You act like this wasn't debated in the mod lounge before Maus championed it here.

THE CORRECT OPINION.
Why care, is there a rule against it, no.
I mean that space was given to the users to put whatever they want within it following the guildlines set.
Taking it out because a mod finds it to be stupid in itself is stupid.
Since horray, if they have a high one listed, that just means you have less work to do when they've done something close to spamming.
Oh wait, that's showing favoritism. I mean mods never do that. My mistake they always do, they're like the supreme courts judges. Hired not because of qualifications, but of who they know.
Thing is, like the supreme court or ANY COURT judges, you're supposed to govern or in this case, ban depending on the Constitution (BBS Rules) yet more and more you see these new made up rules like things ron has done "you spelled a word wrong, 7 days ban" or Ozcar "You made a thread saying you're going to kill yourself, banned" or Maus "biew biew" the last one of course is a lie, but it's just supposed to emphasize the context. Basically stating rules are being MADE UP, just to get certain people banned.
Like a few weeks back, oh remember that "you're too fucking star syndicate" oh god now wasn't that a great reason.
You guys are making up stuff that isn't even close to the rules that were layed down, you've made this place such a bore because humor now no matter what is spam
Congratulations on fucking up the BBS

It doesn't matter who made it up or how new it is, it's still a pointless rule and all the mods who supported it are responsible. Even worse, are the mods who not only delete the sig, but also ban for it. Everytime we're banned we're told to read the bbs rules, but that doesn't matter since we can get banned for things not listed in the official rules. Actually I think most of my bans were for breaking a rule not in the official rules.
Another thing, the official rules were approved by Tom or Wade Fulp themselves, even if it was written by Tanner. That's why it's on an html page. Why aren't all these new rules being posted there? How hard is it to put it up? I edit html pages everyday, takes like two seconds to add a new rule, yet nobody takes the time to do it. Instead we just have to take the mods word for it that this is a rule and somehow n00bs are supposed to know this, even after these threads get buried 100 pages deep.

As for a lot of the stuff I've seen myself and others recieve recently. It's normally from threads that no one considers spam, except one mod, and that ONE MOD goes and destroys is, or well even for a while it was deleted and everyone would be banned. Seen it with mods having posted in it, and of course if they don't think it then why should another mod mean that much more.
WOW MAUS OH YOU'RE COOL, i read the fucking thread, i know that this has gone on for a while, but it's just the fact that ANY OF YOU, care so much as to get rid of the signature in it's entirety is completely overstepping set rules. Want to have liljim had shit like sig threads and this fabulous BBS SIGNATURE RULE, go ahead, make my day. Until then though we have an unalienable right to complain about how you guys are being complete irrational, indecisive, and idiotic.

people posting ban counts in their sig are kinda like landlords draping "FUCK THE POLICE" banners on their buildings. according to the books it MIGHT not be against the rules, but it sure as hell isn't gonna endear you to the people that have a say in what you are or are-not allowed to do.
Yeah and if those landlords aren't breaking any rules, then the cops really have nothing that they can do about that.
It's just too bad that people in authority can't learn to be more impartial and do their job to keep the peace, rather than abuse their power of authority to silence those who annoy them or they disagree with, even if they aren't breaking any rules.
BTW the song "Fuck the Police" by NWA is a classic. Really captures the essence of giving the finger to authority :)
if you boast about doing something wrong, you're gonna get scrutinized. if you blatantly do that and then complain about someone else doing something wrong, you're gonna get scrutinized AGAIN.
basically, people who try to act cute by instigating shit are only fucking themselves over.
Scrutinize them all you want. Just as cops scrutinize young men driving in red sports cars with two doors, more than any other car. It still doesn't mean that everyone who posts their ban count deserves to be banned on that alone.

Wow. So they're really taking away our freedom to list how many times we've been banned? Meh, not so horrible, but yet again, mods doing something out of their own personal opinion that has nothing to do with the rules or anything that should be a rule.

Well, we could either delete the 'ban count' thing in sigs since their only purpose is to flaunt how much of a "internet rebel" you are... OR, we could use said counts as a multiplier for the number of days someone should be banned for anything else they do.
So if you post some shit that you'd normally get banned 3 days for, and your sig says you've been previously banned 7 times, then you get a 21-day ban. I mean hey, if you're really that proud of getting banned, then you should consider it an honor that you only get to make a few posts per month before having to wait another month to post again.

Nice theory. But then people would put i've been banned zero times. let's see, 3 x 0 = 0. So they would be banned for zero days. Fun.

Sorry Maus but get a fucking life! BigBlueBalls is very right about all of this and you are wrong. You can't just ban and delete someone because of them putting their ban count in their sig. Stop being a fucking dick!
If I am banned for this, Maus, Tom and Wade will be hearing about this!

Maus did not pull this rule out of her ass and stop giving her flak over it because atleast half a dozen other mods have posted in here saying they support this and have already been doing this. We are deleting the sig text, not deleting your account.
I have already deleted several sig texts.
So if you want to give someoen flack over this rule dont single out Maus, since every mod is doing this. there are other things people get banned for that arent specifically stated in the rules but are detremental to the BBS in general which is why we do what we do.

Hell with it
I'll do anything i want which is not against the rules (and the law)
either update the rules before you propose a new rule or put up with it
i can understand the reason that ban counts can be a bannable offense but until it is on the slate that is the rules then it should not be enforced
you don't see people on the street put in jail for something that was made up on the spot by the police

Nice theory, but we can tell if people have been previously banned. Besides the fact that lying and putting "ban count: 0" is retarded to begin with.
