Hi, i have been using fruityloops for a while now, and i'm just getting the jist of how to use it to it's full potential. The problem is, that i'm new to the electronica scene, i play guitar and know good enough music theory, but know nothing about making tehcno. I have listend to heaps of techno, but i can't figure out when you hit the climax of a song or basic concepts of building up a non repetitive song all the way through. So in short i'm asking, do you have any links to websites that explain the structure for techno, or could you help me understand the basics of making techno music.

Desperate for a reply. *listen to my songs to understand that i have no idea lol.

I'm never, EVER the one who points this out. I just leave people be.

But that is one of the most thinly veiled self promotion techniques I've seen :P

Nope, just jarrydn.

Listen, if you are a guitarist, then don't use fruityloops. Get an M-class guitar input amp, audacity or soundforge and make some guitar music. Enough people do it that way, its a lot more origional and you can go straight from what you already do.

well, when i am puttina song together i try to think of a body first. like your main tune, get an opener for it, and of course finish it last. when i put somethin together ill save it and then start experimenting with other instruments to see if it gives it a different sound. the only thing i hate is when i put somethin up on this site, consider it done, havea couple peopel lsiten to it and then realize...i hate it. i checked out your stuff. it is not bad. but they seem kind of spiritless. you know when you hear a hit song "for the first time" you may feel the music. yuh know, it can give you tingles. your tracks seem to start nice but then maybe a couple other sounds pop in a couple times and never change. its almost as if you can hum the next note without even hearing it like it is predictable. they start out pretty well, i liked your third one but it seemed to end as soon as it began. if you want check out, dreamscaper, czer323, and bounc3 here on newgrounds. i download a lot of their stuff and my engihborhood gets to hear it all the time when i come home(neighbors hate me i think) but i use a lot of their music as inspiration so i gues just find an artist you like and just pay attention to how they do their stuff.

I'm a user of FL studio myself and indeed as the guy said just sit down and think something up...a main tune. After that I usually add some things I can use in a buildup for the song or as for variation. It is indeed very hard to use FL studio to it's full potential I mean I've been working with the program for years now and still don't know all it's ins and outs. While you're at it could you check out my songs/give m a review, as you see i'm fairly new to NG but i've been making music with FL for some time so there'll be more yet to come ;).
