Hell ya I have. Once you buy the Boardwalk, and the Peir, the blue ones. You rake in so much money, then wehn other people land on them, you can make them go bank rupt. Then, you buy the rest of the propertys.

i go for the light blues first and put hotels on em since people land on em so much and hotels not only dont cost much and neither do the properties but the rent is enormous if all of em have hotels

These are my Monopoly stats:
Times I played: 55 (110, if you count Star Wars Monopoly).
Times I actually finished the game: 24, or 25 (45-46 counting SW Monopoly).
Times I actually won: 8 (17, with SW Monopoly).

Main reason why I lost so much, was because when I wanted to buy properties, I had to mortgage properties I had owned. And that angered me, when my brother, or my friend land on one of my properties, and I check to see how much they owe me, only to find out I mortgaged it.

its easy as, game starts slowly, reaches a high point where people are afraid to land on anything except their own spaces, hit a point where 1 or 2 people have all the money, then only 1 has all the money
then when the first player is out, give the game maybe 20 more rounds and the game will be over :P

Monopoly is hardly a challenging game to sit through, I usually play in a group of 6 people and it rarely take more than three hours to finish a game. The game that I really have trouble finishing is Risk, what with the impending danger of a disgruntled player launching an "atomic bomb."

Heh, you should try playing "Axis & Allies" when everyone is drunk. That game can end in a few hours or still be going by morning. My favorite country is Germany, just because you have so many units to attack with.

I've only really played with my brothers, and we never finished a game in all the times we've played.

Either we get distracted, or it gets too late, or we accuse someone of cheating or trying to buy off one another's property for hotels and houses.

Contrary to what some people have been saying, I've found that Boardwalk and Park Place aren't that great. It takes so much money to develop them that they aren't even worth it, especially since, when I play, hardly anybody lands on them. The railroads and mediterranean and baltic are where it's at.

I've finished quite a few times... its harder though when the people you play against get smarter everytime... then things just drag out for hours.

Yeah, but you need to act fast before America jumps into action, if any other player is able to hold you off, especially Russia, then you're fucked. Never played A&A, drunk before though, I'll have to give it a shot.
