I dont think that they have to go to drill camp to learn to use a gun. (A Drill team is ok since the guns dont fire anyways) Martial arts, fine.

What your sugjesting is that if you learn how to hurt people, you will use that to hurt innocent people. But that is very very false, even though there is no definate study, it's just common observation that somomone with knowledge in police or military arts, (fighting) has a much higher esteem, and dicipline, and would be less likly to attack somone then a person who knew nothing about fighting. This excludes most public and private school made physed groups because they're to leaniant on the evil teenage angsthormoneinfested brats.

Alright man, this is what ya do. First off, this is against the Civil Rights Act (no racist discrimination based on one's color, religion, and CREED), the creed being punks around your school as you all share an equal belief in punk. Bring this up with the princaple, and discuss it. If he's a reasonable chap, he should get the message and convey it to the PTA bastards. If he is a prick, call up the President of the PTA or Super Attendent of your school district and threaten legal action as it goes again the Civil Rights Act and your first article freedom (freedom of speech, as speech can be related to thought which relates to belief, it is all intertwined). Hopefully, then they should back off, but if they don't, sue those fuckers into the ground.

Emo (a genre name I disagree with) is a branch of hardcore, which is a branch of punk rock, which is a branch of rock in general, which is really just the blues.

You're denying the idea of influence, and you're completely ignoring other bands who formed at the same time and played the same style of music. What about Social Distortion, the Misfits, and the Exploited?

Green Day was a punk band at one point, and although the members might still have the same attitude, their sound has changed. Does that mean they're any less punk? I guess if punk is a sound, which it is yet isn't, then yes. They have also become mainstream, starting in 1994-1995, which seems to go against being 'punk'.

You make the point about rebellion, but comparing the Ramones (one of the worst punk bands, in my opinion, let alone the worst musicians ever assembled) and Green Day. At one point, you could of said that they were punk, being they had punk roots (and I hate to be cliché about it, but they were influenced by the Stiff Little Fingers and the Clash). However, their lyrics are thought out and meaningful, so they couldn’t possibly be anything like the blind emotions of punk rock.

If you compared it to one of today’s “punk” bands (e.g. Anti-Flag), you’d be closer to making any point at all.

It’s bogus with every argument because you don’t need to prove your rebellious nature by the way you dress or what bands you listen to. It’s the way you think and act, ignoring the influence of others that might change how you feel.
