There's nothing better, though, than reviewing some 1-3 year old movie and getting an unexpected response back. I know this from teh experiences.

Heh. That guy was a bit of a jackhole, and I'm totally with you on cutting the song short not being cool. His whole "nobody animates an entire song's length!" is ridiculous. 50%+ of the music videos on NG I've enjoyed have full songs, but yes, quite a lot of authors do cut them short, too. For him to act like 5 minutes was unanimatable is pretty silly, though.

I do have to disagree with your original review to him on one thing, though: just because visually a music video has nothing to do with the lyrics of the song featured in it doesn't mean it needs to be classed as "abstract," or that it's not a music video

Thinking back to the good ol' days of AMP on MTV, vocals-free techno music videos don't HAVE lyrics to set the visuals to or have some sort of relevance. Does that make them "not" music videos?

Also, people make anime-clip music videos to tons of popular songs, and very rarely is there ever anything really connected between the songs and visuals, yet I've never seen people flaming them on YouTube and claiming they're not a proper music video.

Anyway, you asked for feedback in that thread, so I just thought I should let you know I differed with ya on one thing you seemed a bit anal (read: Greg-like) on. #;-}>

Another month, another update. I've been made aware of CruzAzul-19's impending membership of this list and I noted Aci6 making some good progress with the number of reviews (You passed me, you bastard!) so I thought it was worth checking him out for the list.

Of course, when that happens, it means we have to say goodbye to some of our 100, so this falls to MightyDein and HAcoreRD. I'd hope that with the numbers put up recently, they might be worthy of re-entry sometime soon.

Nice, I've re-entered the top 10 in responses AND have gained 41 responses since the last update. That's great, but whenever Afro_Stud will have his flashes unflagged and/or respond to all the reviews he's missed out, I don't know. :( I don't expect myself to get much responses by the next update.

Cool still up there, I havn't been to agressive makign my lsit of 22 flashes to review as of yet.
Even if get a response to all of them it jsut puts me over 58%.
I'd have give up the 1337 to get any where above 60...

I didn't mean anyone in particular, but I did drop down a lot on this update, so I just naturally assumed that all else being equal, I'll be booted further down in a matter of time and slip out of the top 50.

Besides, if I just go and review randomly (Which is what I normally do, yes), I'm not very likely to get responses anyway.

Now, your list is ordered on total responses, not % like my old list was, so it's not like I can truly shoot myself in the foot and push myself out of the top 50, but reviewing more might not necessarily help my case.

For some reason, the spreadsheet that Afro_Stud gave to me had users with only about 40 responses on it. I keep picking a few new users from the top 100 Reviewers list, LUL and RRC to give me some more accurate figures. I don't have any plans to expand at present, though

I was more thinking that before you get to 100k, you might decide, as I did, that there's no need to continue the whole b/p ambition game to such insane heights. But you might never decide that, either. Just saying... it's far easier for me to avoid slipping on this list than it is for you to pass ramagi or Denvish in b/p.

For some reason, the spreadsheet that Afro_Stud gave to me had users with only about 40 responses on it. I keep picking a few new users from the top 100 Reviewers list, LUL and RRC to give me some more accurate figures. I don't have any plans to expand at present, though

I had plenty of people in the tracking section of my spreadsheets who had fairly low (by any standards) stats in terms of in comparison to what gets you on a list. So I don't find it too surprising that Afro had 40-response folks on his spreadsheet.

Speaking of spreadsheets... I just downloaded and installed OpenOffice 2.3 on this laptop today.... and my gf gmailed me the Pentalist spreadsheet from the old desktop to my gmail so I could DL it onto the laptop...

OO Calc + Pentalist .xls file = funs!

But before the funs, hard works. I'll need your and any other interested parties' help to get usernames for URLs for profiles for checkings. This is gonna be like a grassroots political campaign. Gotta do the footwork!

Are you after someone to trawl through the current pentalist update and try to find names of former accounts that have changed their names to something else altogether...

I've already begun the works.

I took all 600+ old userID# profile URLs, and converted them into userID# review URLs. I've begun clicking on the links for all of them, and will then convert THOSE into new username profile/userpage URLs, the final step.

Granted, I could just leave then the userID# review URLs, since those bring up the new username review pages, which still show the user's stats on the left column next to the reviews, but A) I'd rather link in the actual webpage list update to the main profile, not the review page..... and B) I won't trust that the admins won't shut off the userID#s linking to the userpages on the old review URL..... seeing as how they did shut it off on working for the old profile URL, so... it may just be a loophole they haven't closed yet.

By the weekend, I will have my pentalist spreadsheet ENTIRELY "modernised," meaning it will have nothing but newstyle profile/userpage links in it instead of the old user ID# ones...

AND, I will go ahead and update every single username to the current locked down usernames, as well, while I'm at it. Easier to do that now than any other time.

So that leaves...

As I said above, the name changes no longer matter, since someone pointed out to me the old review userID# URL trick, and it's been working for me in all cases. So once I've done the above.... and the weekend arrives... what I need help with is this:

So what I'm thinking is that I'll either post a list of who I DO have in the pentalist topic... in fact, perhaps a list of "here's the people I was monitoring for 10k exp" and a list of "here's the people that were nearing 10k blams and saves back at the end of 2006," and then a posts one, too... clearly the reviews won't be a problem, the top 100 reviewers list covers that nicely.

Anyway... so either I'll post all four of those user lists in the topic, or I'll make a temporary .html file and put it up on the site so you and anyone else who wants to help "nominate" people that I should add to the spreadsheet in prep for the update itself.... that would help tons.

I think it's clear, though, that I won't really be able to update the list this coming weekend, but maybe we can get most of the pre-update work done by next week, and then I can update the list the weekend after next. Meaning by ol' St. Patrick's Day, we'll have....

And my target is 666 responses, which I'll get on Friday assuming I get a response for CAI493+D 204 - 207. And after that, I'll be aiming for 700. That's pretty obvious, but at the rate I'm going, it'll take me until mid April to get it.
