I agree 100% I think it's disgusting that you're getting flack just for voicing anti establishment opinions in public. People need to open thier eyes to the reality of these "anti-terrorist measures". George Bush is a retard.

While there have been conspiracy theories about the US government leaders for over a century (Some thought that the Masons were controlling the government at one point), there a few that have some plausible facts behind it to make the theory sound more frightening and possibly real. I don't take any word from any leader as the whole truth. They're all politicians, lying and cheating to gain your votes by any means necessary: smear campaigns, false allegations against opponents, promise goals that will not be accomplished, etc. And yet, I don't know why I'm not an anarchist if I have such a deep mistrust in my government. Oh well.

Well it looks like it's upon us. With civil liberties fading and a heavy handed gov't emerging it looks as though history is repeating itself. When you think about it America's Patriot Act and Homeland Security act remind us of Nazi Germany's enabling act. We have given up our personal freedoms to protect ourselves from terrorists. Well if we continue down the path we are, the terrorists will have already won. Along with the "bill of rights crushing" Patriot Act the Homeland security act that just passed America is in trouble. This is what the people America elected signed America up for:
Every purchase you make with a credit card, every magazine subscription you buy and medical prescription you fill, every Web site you visit and e-mail you send or receive, every academic grade you receive, every bank deposit you make, every trip you book and every event you attend — all these transactions and communications will go into what the Defense Department describes as "a virtual, centralized grand database."
Well isn't that grand? Along with the Patriot Act:
It breaks the political backs of the judiciary and legislative branches of government.
It allows random arrests and detention without hearings or trials for anyone or any group designated by the President. Retroactive Prosecution, too!
It allows the concealment of Presidential records.
It permits secret "Military Tribunals" for presidentially-designated "terrorists".
It legalizes "sneak-n-peek" searches and seizures.
It allows the unlawful infiltration and surveillance of legal, domestic religious, labor and political organizations.
It allows the wholesale surveillance of private citizens, private business records and other materials without proof of probable cause.
It destroys all e-mail and internet privacy...
That leaves America somewhere between hypocritical and fucked. What have we become? We have let our fear of terrorism ruin all that America stood for, all that made America great, all that made America LEADER of the FREE world.
In fact my comments right now could be labled Anti-American, I could be deamed a terrorist, I could be held in jail for any amount of time without reason, and I could be tried in a military tribunial at any moment.
What in the hell does that remind you of?
You know Hitler was elected democraticly, he passed and enabling act and promised to rid Germany of the Communist threat. How did he pass the enabling act? Well when the Reichstag was burnt down the communists were the scpae goats, and there was ample support to rid Germany of them.
So I ask you to do 3 things, replace Reichstag with WTC, replace communists with terrorists, and replace the Enabling Act with The Patriot Act and now Home Land Security Act. What do you get? History repeating itsesf perhaps?
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying America is Nazi Germany. However, you have to see the comparison.
When the gov't is spying on you. When your neighbours are spying on you. When you live in fear of being labled a terrorist. When your society is highly capitalistic, militaristic, nationalistic. When the gov't has unbelievble power to silence anyone they wish(not that they have yet). When people all willing to sacrifice freedom for "security." When freedom starts to slip away. When The State is greater then the individual .............. well?
FASCIM, DON'T LET IT HAPPEN. SPEAK WHILE YOU CAN, SPEAK BEFORE YOUR SILENCED.

Nice post; informatave. I've never agreed with the Patriot Act, and have always hated the name because there's nothing patriotic about it. I'm proud of being an American and of this country, but that DOES NOT mean that I agree with everything the government/president decides. I don't see how so many people can blow off the whole topic as impossible and unlikely. This country, along with many others, have been conspired by trusted officials tons of times. And I thnk it's pretty ignorant, like so many people are doing, to think it's so unlikely that the most rich and influencial people wouldn't have a single desire for more power. I guess people are stupid enough to assume that if we don't think about it, it'll go away.
I must lollerskate on this matter.

I'm not thrilled with Bush. But if we are talking about crushing personal liberties and breaking the law, the prize has to go to Bill Clinton. Clinton could be Hitler, Stephanopoulous as Goebbels, Janet Reno as Himmler....LOL

This stuff is also contagious. Down here in australia, lil johnny is passing up draconian laws, trying to keep up with the US, and since the dumb masses believe everything thats fed to them, they support these measures! Things like raiding an apartment that belongs to a couple with little kid, using sledge hammers to smash down doors, guys to jump in through windows, all decked out in full kelvar vests and helmets, and brandishing the meanest looking guns are starting to be suspected.
One of the new laws passed says that you can be put in jail for refusing to answer a question, and if u state that u dont know the answer, u have to PROVE that u dont! How fucked is that @_@

No I agree, there all there to fuck you. However, under Bush's rule we have seen more assult to the bill of rights and constitution then we have ever seen Bill Clinton do.

I know about the Boston Massacre... several british sentry guards shot and killed 5 colonists. The word was spread of this British tyrrany, so I guess it was propaganda, but why would a patriot not want to spread word that the British were killing off civilians?
