The police reports are on the website too, first one is 2 pages long, second one is ont he 3rd page.
Heres the brief rundown on what happened for those that dont like clicking on links.
Man is involved in an accident, flees from the scene. Police arrive at his house, and he tries to hit one of them with a 4 foot sword. Guy goes back inside police officer tries to taser him, only 1 barb sticks in tho. He goes inside the house, puts on chainmail armor and leather gauntlets and arms himself with a big mallet. And his favorite quote "I'm gonna crush your fucking skulls, I have a thousand years of power."
Is this what dungeons and dragons did to our youth in the 70s?

I'd say that there's a single character trait that underlies both behaviours, I don't think that dungeons and dragons specifically influenced him to act this way.
I'd also like to postulate that the underlying character trait is "Totally fucking insane"

Personally I find that funny as hell. But heh everyone has a right to do what they want so long as no ones hurt. Besides cops have guns and he managed to fend off for a little bit with a sword and mallet? Although yes Dunegons and Dragons was huge in the 70's to answer your question.

Even the insane have to base their dillusions off of something...

I think the man should be tested to see if he is insane. Well what I would like to know is how much time is he doing or fines.

The point is, he'd eventually come into contact with something to model his crazy insane behaviour after.
We're just lucky it was dungeons and dragons rather than super-sneaky gun kill man, otherwise he might have been a legitimate threat.

That report was absolutely hilarious. Even more hilarious is the idea that a game could do this to people. Still, it would be funny to see that bastard Jack Thompson looking into this.

Wow, complete delusional episode, right there. Sounds like he was set off by extreme anger from road rage. Strong emotions can trigger an episode in delusional people, a great deal of anger certainly falls into that category. He must have been messed up something fierce, though. A thousand years of power? He may have been on drugs as well, that would certainly explain the severity of the psychosis.
Think you're pretty clever...

My Chainmail +1 will protect me form your bullets! And with my Iron Hammer I'll destroy you all!
Well how long do you think we got until old Jack Thompson wants a ban on all 20 sided dice?
Any way, there's a lot of nutjobs out there, somebody's bound to take things way to far at some point.

Have you ever seen the blade on a Scottish Claymore? Not everyone owns a gun, you know.

hey don't make fun of D&D that was a somewhat cool game till i quick. Yes sir, level 12 Ranger, great game great game.
But seriously here, that more then dungeons and dragons because first of all a cleric and fighter have average life expectenseys and don't rely on power like that.

Wow. Somebody really needed to get laid. It's just a shame the cops didn't bust a cap in his ass.

BTW D&D had nothing to do with the article, I threw that in for humor. In no way do I seriously relate that to this man's episode at all, just saw a funny little thing to link the two. Just wanted to point that out incase anyone actually thought I was serious about that aspect of the post and that I had something against D&D or something. I'm a big rpg fan.
I do find it humurous about the chain mail and taser part. But can't expect him to have much common sense after a thousand years.

Hey, I've gotten an e-mail before from someone who (I swear to god) said he was an immortal just getting in touch with his immortality. People are delusional. It's not as uncommon as one would tend to think. However, I do love this article. I HAVE A THOUSAND YEARS OF POWER! *uses +12 wind attack*

(to police officer) "HAH I rolled a 6, I'm immune to arrest"
How can one man be so nerdy to the point that he has lost his goddamned mind? I mean that story's unbelievable. That's the equivalent of some kid freshly hyped on Halo trying to ward off the fuzz by means of his special edition joystick.
Take a step back into reality man!

You all are just jealous because you dont have a level 12 sword and a level 16 shield my only weaknesses are sunlight, human interaction (internet ok) and physical pain.
