I’d live in denmark, but isn’t the price of living really expensive?
On the other hand, you have Legoland!!

The reality is that all English speaking countries are potential targets for terrorist attacks, although I would have to agree that Wales and Scotland are less likely to be targetted because terrorist will always think of England first. There was news about attacks on Canada recently, England and America have both had them and Australia is always at risk since it is involved in Iraq. Ireland seems quite safe at the moment though. Although New Zealand seems fine. We should all move there.
What I'mbasically saying is that likelihood of a terrorist attack is a bad way to measure how good a country is to live in. All Western countries are at risk. I only included English speaking countries on the basis that we wouldn't want to move somewhere where they speak a different language. But you might, I don't know.
Now for my view on America. America, as a country, does not suck. Over here in Britain, many people just jump on board the hate America band wagon without thinking about what they are doing. The problem with America is the minority of people who are so ignorant, arrogant, big headed and overly patriotic. These are the people who spend there whole life telling everyone how much better America is than everything else in the world. These are the people who insult the Europeans, Arabs and Chinese because they don't know, and don't want to know, anything about them. These people are the ones who have given America a bad reputation. Along side, of course, the government.
Getting involved without being asked in international affairs is America's other flaw, or ignoring the wishes of the international community. The UN may be a useless organisation, but if the US paid more attention to it, then it could be sorted out. If the US decided to accept the Kyoto Protocol all of a sudden, I'm sure it's image would improve somewhat.
I pity the majority of Americans who get caught up in this hatred. Perfectly reasonable people being stereotyped because of a few extremely irritating individuals who've made it their life's mission to make America detested by the world. The majority of American's I meet on games like Halo 2 are extremely annoying, but aside from that, on the internet in general, the majority are more considerate and won't launch into unfounded flame wars.
So, a message to all non-Americans out there who insist on insulting the US -
Stop stereotyping. Just because some of them are annoying, doesn't mean all of them are. Of course they're going to react angrily if you insult them, but I'm sure if you don't spend you time telling them how much they suck, they'll be perfectly nice.

The reality is that all English speaking... oh screw it, "everything that guy said!"
Yay! A rational person! The only problems that I have with America is their leader, the amount of nukes they have, and their obsesion with policeing the world. Oh! And the fact that they blew up canadians in Afganistan. I mean really, multi-million dollar fighter jets that can't tell target shootng from crazy terrorist people, pfsh! By the way, there hasn't been any actual attacks on Canada yet, but they caught seventeen guys with several tonnes of manure, the most potent explosive available to the Canadian military!
(but really, mixed with another thing, it goes BOOM)
PS- Then theres the fact that the was has cost billions upon billions of dollars already...
And where are the weapons of mass destruction?

Hey, calm down. People have a right to at least voice concern about the US government and people as long as they have some kind of proof. I agree with you that the government is not the entire population so that the people are not all bad, though I don't think you needed to use colorful language (I'm guessing you were upset and were not thinking clearly). Still, there is the point that the government does represent the people, so we are accountable for their actions. Even though it's their actions that may cause controversy they were elected so they are our problem. No, America does not "sux", it has many freedoms and a majority of good people even though it is by no means perfect. Every government has flaws, the US are normally brought up more often for the simple fact that it is a player in the world and has people who are very loud (and I'm sure no one would mind if they silenced themselves), meaning the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
The message is, America has flaws but they are not big enough or horrible enough to say "America sux".

This is without a doubt the BEST country in the world. I, for one, hate our current government, but our constitution gives me the right to express that opinion. And anyone that says "the system" has absolutely no idea what they're talking about. In some countries, if you say it sucks, you very well may be shot in the face by the government or "the system" as you like to call it. We have the most diverse country in the world. Sure we make fun of each other but when it comes down to it, we're all americans. When 9/11 happened everyone united to help victims in new york. We just fight each other like young siblings do. Except sometimes we kill each other... In conclusion, move to Canada.

people are just jealous. while the rest of the world falls apart, we stay afloat. we have a military that kicks arse, and the only war we didnt succeed in was the korean war, and we're still working on that politically. add onto that the lifestyle that we have the freedom to take for granted, and you have a country that can pick up the peices after every world war. and we are trying to introduce our rather peaceful way of life onto the world. people are meerly afraid of change. why do you think we have literally a million people just itching to come here from mexico? but let's not get into that.

I love the American constitution and what it could do, but I do not believe it should be treated as a living document as it is today. This countr is still great, but yet not as great as it could have been, or maybe can be.
Personally, I might start my own country. *If* make enough money or plenty of other people will contribute, I will lease land from a 3rd/2nd World country for 99 years. I will develop the land and build housing according to the poplulation. If more people like my philosophy, I'll buy more land from that other country. One day, when I'm bored, I'll write up part of the constitution. Stupid idea, i know, but its still a dream of mine. If that doesn't work out, I'll move to Hong Kong or New Zealand, maybe Ireland or Switzerland.
The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars. But in ourselves, that we are underlings

We have plenty of room. Terrorist attacks happen because America's government acts like this, and the world gets pissed. Be a little bit nicer and maybe my kids can live in peace one day.

Kiss my ass. America is supposed to be about oppurtunity. Besides, just look at all of the open land that we have between the coasts? Don't tell me that we couldn't grant them land if they open up farms.

Yes of course, because we live in shitty houses with shitty undemocratic governments and hurricanes every year. Vietnam was such a succes, knocked me right off my feet, and the efforts you're making in Korea are swell, you should be commended for that.
You claim to be the land of the free, while there is quite a lot of censorship, your government checks your mail, and taps your phones and internet connections to analyze your private life. WWII saved the US from the great depression in the 1930's, where the hell did you think all those new jobs came from? You have a nation that is isolated by the sea, with Canada to the north side and Mexico to the south, so surprise surprise you haven't had any continental wars for the past 100 years.
'Introducing a peaceful way of life', by going to war? Surely you can figure out the hypocrisy in that. Perhaps 'forcing onto', or 'turning into puppets' would be more appropriate.
Afraid of change? Gee, is that a bomb they're dropping right on top of us? This migh blow away our homes and lifestock, but I'm not scared, it's just the change America is offering us....
And of course, we have no immigration at all. I've never seen a foreigner in my entire life.

Every country has their issues and problems but I think that the USA is one of the more alright countries in the world. Sure they've done loads of bad things and blown up a lot of things they shouldn't have, but hasn't nearly every country? There's lots of countries out there that are politically fucked up more so than the USA and no, I'm not american :P
