Nightwish sacks lead singer

That really sucks. Tarja Turunen was the main reason I liked the band. Apparently, at least according to this open letter to her, she was being a greedy, arrogant bitch. After reading some of her interviews and positive articles about her, I have had the impression that she's a nice person. But then again, she is an opera singer.

The band is currently looking for a new female lead vocalist, but I doubt it'll ever be the same. I really would have wanted to see them (and her) live some time.

My consolation is that they managed to release a compilation album (which I bought a couple of weeks ago) right before the break-up. And at least the guy who makes the songs is still in the band, but the new vocalist better be just like her.

Metal with female voice is the only type of metal I've ever liked, but no way I'm going to start listening to that Within Temptation shit.

Short lived? They were together for nine years. I know it's not exactly the same as Rolling Stones, but ... I don't know. What's the average life-span of a rock band?

Well, it depends. How hard can it be to convince some other soprano to join? But the singer should also be pretty, dark-haired and gothic, if they want to have the same style. I haven't given up on the band yet.

Well that was a coincidence.
Just yesterday I heard some of their music for the first time and I loved it. One day later they decide to sack their lead singer? This is obviously all my fault :o
