It's about damn time!
I can't remember the last time I purchased a VHS tape. The only thing they are good for now are homemade movies, and recording television channels. But now DVD players and Tivo can do that too.

I'll never forget the time when i was 6 and i saw my father record something on TV. After he labeled the tape and put it in the draw.
Immediatly i got up, pulled a new un-used Blank Tape out of the packet and wrote "BAMBI" in big, retarded, 6 year olds letters. Put it in the player and saw nothing but static. Then burst out crying because i thought the film automaticaly appeared on the tape when you write the name on the tape.
How wrong i was. :'(
So long VHS. I'll never forget you..

This only applies for new movies, though... It's not like the government will come to our houses and burn all of the old VHS movies...

Well no one buys them anymore. You can get a DVD player for just as cheap if not cheaper than a VCR.

vinyls are not extinct though, they still make record players, they usually come in CD player/ tape player/ record player combo machines. we bought one for my grandma last Christmas, she has about 100 vinyls.
I dont even.

Seriously.
DVDs get scratched too easily -- VHS tapes actually last.

It's a shame, really. I've always been more used to VHSs than DVDs.
VHSs will be forever missed, though.
