You likely have degenerative changes in your shoulder joint.
You may have some impingement of your tendons as well as rubbing from osteophytes that may have formed in the joint. I'd have to look at your shoulder and do a physical exam to figure out what's going on.
Have you ever had trauma to your shoulder?
You can see a physio for them to assess your range of motion and perhaps give you some stretches and exercises to allow your shoulder to function optimally....
I think it would be too expensive and a little extreme to see a orthopaedic surgeon at this stage unless the pain was so severe that it's stopping you from working or waking you up at night.
