Yeah I know its just not me that are approached by friends about which games they should buy. And if your like me, you play almost everything the hits selves were heres your chance to write reviews like your favorite magazines.

What you need to join:

- You need to play a bunch of games and complete them, as they come out say within the first 2 weeks.

- You will be expected to write ar detailed review about the game including the highs and lows you can tell why it suck or why this game deserves to be in everyone's collection.

- Try and keep your reviews professional as in Spellchecking, grammar and all that other good stuff.

- The BBS rules apply so if you spam here I will not hesitate to alert a MOD to your ways about this thread.

With that said get to playing games people!

I plan on having a Wanda and the Colossus/Shadow of the Colossus any time now.

I also forgot to mention in the rules You have to have a non biased opinion of games so no "Xbox is teh bestest all other systems suck!" keep your personal opinions of the systems to yourselves just focus on the games themselves.

I'm thinking of joining this Crew, but I have some problems.

#1: Due to homework problems in the past, I am not allowed to play video games during the school year. I could participate during the break, but that's about it.
#2: My money can't flow everywhere... I'm trying to save... :/

If you were talking about old games of our choice, then I'd be up for it. But, I just can't buy too many new games nowadays...

I don't play everything the second it comes out, but I do rent a lot, and own lots of games, so this sounds like a intriguing club.

What you need to join:

- You need to play a bunch of games and complete them, as they come out say within the first 2 weeks.

I can give a review on most of the newer games that I have rented/played and beat recently.

- You will be expected to write ar detailed review about the game including the highs and lows you can tell why it suck or why this game deserves to be in everyone's collection.

Of course, won't be complete but I will definitely try to get the point across.

- Try and keep your reviews professional as in Spellchecking, grammar and all that other good stuff.

I can't stand bad grammar when I write, won't be perfect, but you wont need a translator to fully understand what I am saying.

- The BBS rules apply so if you spam here I will not hesitate to alert a MOD to your ways about this thread.

Of course, common sense.

With that said get to playing games people!

I plan on having a Wanda and the Colossus/Shadow of the Colossus any time now.

Never heard of either of those games.

Anyway, sounds good, I am pretty sure you will accept me, seeing as you were kind of nudging and suggesting on AIM, so yeah, here I am, (hopefully) the first member, I will hopefully get a review in on a few games, like Darkwatch: Curse of the West, Halo 2 (This is going to go deeeeeeeep. I know it isn't new, I just want to pitch in my opinon) Dead or Alive Ultimate 1 & 2, and Dead to Rights II (Before I even review this game fully, I am going to say, DO NOT EVEN WASTE TIME RENTING THIS GAME. I did and was highly disappointed, more details later.). So with that said, I'll begin working on some reviews...tomorrow :D

I'd love to join this, however, the review timescale concerns me. I don't usually buy games as soon as their released, usually (ironically enough), waiting for reviews to come out before I make a judgement as to whether to buy them. Some games that I have been anticipating, I will buy instantly, but the majority I will wait a bit before I buy them.

I'd still love to join, just as long as I can review games that aren't brand new.

Ok, the time line is not super important but you might be able to sway others with your reviews if they are in the same position as you were. But yea, the timeline I guess i set a bit high so just review what you can when you can from now on.

Bueno - I can live with that. But, just a note: I'd rather simply post here sporadically, instead of all the time. Not only does my wallet have a limit, but my time does too... o.O

Ok heres an example of a review I wrote a while back just you guys will get a feel of how I do things.

My first game I will review is God Of War for Ps2.

GOW is a game that takes place in ancient Greece you play the role of Kratos, a tough as nails antihero who opens the game by proclaiming that the gods for forsaken him and he then casts himself of a mountain. This is begins one of the most beautiful PS2 games since MGS3. The game shifts back 3 weeks into Kratos's past in which you emerge on a boat in the middle of a storm. The game then begins to familiarize you with what is perhaps GOW's strongest feature its combat. The best way to describe to explain this fighting the options of a Tony Hawk but pushed into action/adventure the options that Kratos has at his disposal are astounding. From his aerial maneuvers to ground based combat Kratos is one pissed of character and it shows through is combat engine. Which allows you to literally rip your enemies apart. GOW combat just seems to suit the character so well especially in it’s over the top enemy death animations. Which range from Kratos cleaving a Minotaur's head to ripping the head of Medusa. This is another aspect of GOW that wows, is that you never have really played a character with this much disregard for anything other than himself. You in many situations are given the option of slaying innocents to replenish you health. As stated before GOW has some very impressive graphics from sand storms to gigantic titans that carry temples upon there back GOW delivers graphically and gameplay wise. My only grip with this game is the length I beat it my first play though in about 8 hours. But other than that GOW is masterpiece of well thought out gameplay ideas and beautiful art and story telling.

God Of War for the PS2 gets a 8.8 out of 10

Good: The game has some trully amazing Boss fights.
Bad: There are not enough of these awesome boss fights.

Thats just how I do things but give the game a rating and list its best point and worst point.

Review: Burnout Revenge
Version - PS2

Lets do some comparisons here.
Take the original Burnout, for gamecube. There were 3 game modes. Race, self explanatory, where you gained boost for jumps, slides, overtaking nearby, and driving on the wrong side of the road. If you filled up your boost bar, you got a super boost. Pursuit, like race, but you aimed to ram a car into oblivion before it got to the end of the track. And Crash, where you drove your car into other cars, and the amount of cash was simply the amount of destruction.
In Burnout Revenge, there are races, roadrages, (destroy enough of the unlimited opposition before timer or car dies), traffic attack (destroy enough cars before timer dies), crash, burning laps (time trial), preview laps (time trials in ridiculously good cars), and gran prix, just to give you an idea. I haven't even mentioned the crashbreaker modes of all of those.
If Burnout Revenge sets out to confuse, then it certainly gets 10/10. However, it's more than a confusing game. It's also immensly fun.

The graphics are unparalleled. Better than GT4, for certain. Every texture, every ray of light, seems right. All the maps just seem like they could happen, all the cars are exquisitely modelled, they aren't real, but you wish they were, because they're so cool. Also, the new shortcuts and jumps are ridiculously cool. Especially well made are the shortcuts, as none of them offer particularly big advantages, just a jump to give you boost or a smoother corner.
The sound is equally amazing. Bloc Party, Maximo Park, Nine Black Alps, The Bravery, and various other wonderfully wonderful wonder bands fill your ears, while your smashes and engine revs sound really real.
The handling of the cars is just right too, and there are enough challenges and various races to keep you going for a while.

Downsides? Well, the new ability to smash cars out of your way (but not buses or big lorries, and not coming towards you) is really nice, and makes for some fun times knocking cars into friends, but they feel a bit too light. I know Burnout Revenge is an arcade game, but nevertheless, if the civilian cars had a little more solid feel to them, would be nice. Also, the tracks get a bit repetitive. But none of these really detract from the experience too much. And the load times. GAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Horrible load times.

Graphics - 10/10
Sound - 10/10
Gameplay - 9/10
Lifespan - 9/10

Overall - 9.5/10 - AMAZING

I thought of one!

Nintendogs: Daschund & Friends (DS)

On paper this dog sim-like game looks like a kiddy "O look how cute" kinda game. But I will assure you: it's not. If you hate or like dogs you will love this game. When I first got the game I was terrifed of big dogs. But know I'm really liking dogs.
When you start off in the game you have $600 and you immediatly start looking at puppies in the kennel. At the start you have 6 different dogs to choose from: Golden Retriever, Dachshund, Beagle, Shih Tzu, Pug & Siberian Husky. Each time you click on one of those breeds you have 3 dogs shown to you with different personalites, genders & hair colors. Once you choose the one you want you see the price then you buy it. Once you have your dog you go to your house which right at that point is just a giant white room. After you pet your pup and let him get comfortable you think of a name and say it in the microphone. It should take about 3 times to name him (if it doesn't just keep trying). Then you can feed it,pet it, play fetch, frisbee tons of things. you also have to give them baths and take them for walks.
This a very fun & addidictive game-for the first 2 weeks. Then you start to get bored of the daily routine of teaching it tricks & taking it for walks. To buy more pups you need to take a walk and find items during the walk. You can then sell those items for money. You can also buy a new home with your money. Using the microphone all the time is a cool feature-until you relaize that it has kinda bad quality and is very sensitive. But it's still very cool to say the dog's name & have it coming running at you. The graphics are very poor by today's console standars but by DS standars it's thebest grphics for it yet.
So if you're looking for a game where you can have fun but not totally addicted get Nintendogs.

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories
PSP

A GTA game on the PSP? Thank you God! The much talked about GTA: LSS is finally out, but does it live up to the hype? The graphics are outstanding. I often think I am playing a GTA game for the PS2. However, thge game does suffer from temperory pauses. Crashing a motorcycle or cycling through the radio station too fast will cause the game to lag, a minor annoyace that is easily forgotten. The controls are good. The lack of shoulder buttons and second analog stick does not hinder your hijinks. After a few minutes, you will get the hang of the controls. Game play is good, although a little stale. We are given the same missions that we have done countless times before, drive this person here, blow up this car, kill this guy. You will often find yourself outgunned, and winning a mission becomes a matter of buying the best gun/finding the best car. Audio is where the game trully suffers. Cinemas are often brief, which is a god thing, as voice acting on the PSP is not the best... The radio stations also seem to have a small library of crappy songs... Multiplayer is fun, but seldom used... My biggest problem with the game is that it feels like a downgrade... After playing San Andreas, I fell dissapointed being thrusted back into a GTA3 environment, with poor aiming, lack of cars, and decreased motility. All in all, its a decent game. It did provide me with hours of fun, and is very enjoyable to have GTA on my PSP.

7/10

GOOD
OMG! Its GTA on your PSP!
Awesome graphics!
Probably one of the best games available for your PSP
Multiplayer

BAD
You've been doing this for the past three games...
Feels like a downgrade...
Horrible audio... It makes Resident Evil sound like Final Fantasy...

If your a fan of the series, I would recomend it. If you own a PSP and are looking for a good game, I would also recommened it.

I'd like to join! Here's my first review..

Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix
DDR and Mario? I haven't played DDR once. So I decided to try this game and I'm not too disappointed. The graphics are a nice, colorful Mario Party style. The story of the game, seems like they threw the most random dance-related thing into a Mario game. Apparently, four Music Keys are kept in Truffle Towers, these keys have magical-dance like properties. Seems like Space Channel 5, Dance and Jiggy power all the way! You have to dance to get out of various situations, by using dance magic. In the first level you dance to get a boat across a river. And in another stage you have to dance to steer a sled. Although dancing isn't only what you can do. What keeps this game interesting are the Mini-games. They range from whacking goombas to jumping onto flagpoles. The worst downside is, Mario! We've seen everything with Mario in it. Mario Baseball, Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, and the list goes on and on. But some people might not care. Liking DDR is definately a must. This is basically a DDR remake with Mario. Not much originality, but great fun. A fan of DDR might like this, and if you haven't played DDR but like Mario get the game. Although I advise you play the DDR in the arcades first, to see what it's like. 10/10 Fun but unoriginal

Basic Score For: Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix
Originality: 5
Fun: 9
Fanbase: 2, DDR and Mario fans
Lifespan: Medium

Review: Battlefield 2: Modern Combat (Ps2)

Ok, this game has been hugely anticipated for the consoles and it doesnt dissapoint. The single player campaign is solid. The missions are well done and the graphics are superb. You can switch team members on the fly and the AI is extremely responsive. The best part about this game though, is the online. If you have Ps2 online and you love First person shooters, than this is the game to get, With hardly any lag at all this game runs smooth all the time. The maps are huge and the ranking system is fair and accurate. Using vehicles is a bonus (flying the helicopters is awesome), and there 5 types of classes you can be: Assault, Sniper, Spec Ops, Support, and Engineer. Each class has its own strengths so they are all fun to use. I would definetely recommend this game to anyone who owns Ps2 online.

Mario Superstar Baseball starts off with a cut scene that really brings the emotions and feeling of the game up to play. The scene features Mario and all his famous pals playing baseball. The scene has a very next generation look and feeling to it. And when the clip is finished you can’t wait to play the game. So you press start on the menu and select “Challenge Mode”. You watch a low-quality cut-scene involving how Bowser challenges you to take his team on. So you select a team captain, each with a different set of pre-set players. You find your team captain on a Mario Party type of map with different captains stadiums located on the map. Mario, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Wario, Peach and Bowser himself are the stadiums you must defeat. So you challenge Yoshi. You realize then that the game is amazing! Each of the stadiums are all unique and have different obstacles to make the game not just ordinary, but make it a classic Mario sport game. Your team starts off crap. You got the suckiest teams mates that are related to your team character somehow. Like Peach, she has a team filled with toads. All the traditional baseball moves are added in batting, pitching, catching, running, running bases, double plays, strikes, outs, fouls, home-runs, endings, MVP, slow balls, fast balls, curve balls and basically everything baseball related. But it adds new things that make it fun as hell. Like the power pitches and power battings. Each character has its own power pitches and battings. Bowser sends out a bullet bill when he pitches instead of a ball, Mario hits the ball with fire. At times this seems unfair… But on the other hand you can only perform these by receiving team stars. You gain these by getting characters out in pitching and things like that. Another thing that’s adds onto the Mario Superstar Baseball experience is the “Missions”. When you play a game against another team captain you not only have to beat them but if you complete a lot of in game missions you will earn flags and if you get enough, certain characters from the opposing team will join you team. Missions vary from “Get a player out!” to “Hit a home-run!”… There are tons of characters to unlock on your team. There are TONS! More than 30! Asides from obvious ones there are characters in the likes of Monty Mole, Boo, King-Boo, Petey Piranha, Toadette, Hammer bros, Dixie Kong and ones that are famous like Waluigi, Daisy or Diddy Kong. Each character has there own stats to what they have advantages in or literally suck in. But is the actual game really that good? The game plays well asides from how slow your characters run. So getting a lot of points is quite hard. You can also buy some equipment from the local baseball shop. They sell upgrade bats and balls that you can use for one game only. You earn money from competing in mini-games or favorably beating the wandering Baby Bowser’s ass in short game of baseball. One thing I seriously hate is quite disappointing. Like in the popular Mario Kart franchises they have introduced the Mushroom, Flower, Star and Special cups back. This was exciting for me… But unfortunately once you beat one cup and move on the next… You have to START ALL OVER AGAIN and try to make it to the next cup. So it seems more like you have to get to the top cup more than making an awesome team. But the game is filled with a load of extras as well. Exhibition mode sees you playing against a friend or with the CPU with all the characters you’ve in unlocked while the Mini-games see you playing fun 4-player baseball mini-games. These are fun and there are 8 in total. Oh and the toy field which I still don’t quite get. Buts it’s a nice add-on. It’s a shame that this game had to ruin its rating by making us start over after every cup you’ve beaten.

RATING: 76% A tiny mistake led to its downfall

I seem to ahve fergotten to ask: May I join? I review all the games I get on my website. I get quite alot of games as well. Heres another review I made:

I’m on the train station right now, playing Wario Ware Twisted. I’m twisting, tilting and spinning my Gameboy and everyone is looking at me.
Is this not normal? Oh course it isn’t. In fact it’s far from it. But that’s what makes Wario Ware Twisted a unique innovative game that hooks you in within 10 minutes of game play. What makes it so amazing? Just repeat these words “Built-in Gyro Sensor”. The actual game cartridge is bigger than a normal one. It’s the same size on the end but a fat rumble pack looking part sticks out in the front. Actually, it is a rumble pack as well. All this twisting nonsense means you’ll have to throw away all your button bashing skills and replace it with fast reactions either by twisting. In fact the only in game button you press is the A button, every thing else is trivial. Not only does the Gyro Sensor detect your tilting but it also detects the speed of which you tilt. Just incase you haven’t ever heard of the famous Wario Ware franchise the story goes like this; Wario is a greedy asshole and wants to make more money than Bill Gates himself. So he decides to make games, with the help of his friends. So he makes these Wario Ware games to make money. So basically your playing all his mini-games. Obviously that’s not the only point of the game. Before you play each characters mini-games, you watch a little cut-scene. These are usually problems. For an example, you watch Wario going to the dentist and all the germs are spreading throughout his mouth. So now you have to beat these 5 second micro-games which are all unique and only have 4 lives. So you get to the boss micro-game (Which is usually just longer harder micro-games). You beat it and you watch an epilogue of Wario’s germs getting sucked away. He says thank you and you move on to the next characters stage. This is what Wario Ware Twisted is; Random, funny, fast and addictive. The micro-games come are all different; Dodge the asteroids, shave, drive the car without hitting any of the obstacles, eat the food, spell the word correctly, don’t let the bubble pop and much more. Now you can imagine all these micro-games and how they use twist in them. For instance, dodge the asteroids by moving your Gameboy advanced to the left and right to make him move the corresponding way. This is the 4rth Wario Ware and it already seems the best. As you probably guessed, you do have a spandex in which you must complete to unlock a souvenir. Oh yeah! Souvenirs are the new thing. There’s more than a 100 to collect and they make you want to play the game more. After you beat a characters micro-games and boss stage after the first time, you unlock a souvenir from a capsule machine, in which you must twist the lever to obtain. There are 7 sections/types of souvenirs in which you can obtain; Records, instruments, figurines, games, doodads, toys and other. Each section has 18 things to collect. Some souvenirs are stupid and un-amusing and others are awesome and funny. One thing that saddens me and many others is that unlike in Wario Ware Touched you cannot unlock souvenirs by beating a record in a game you unlocked. This would be a great thing because there are so many games… But oh well. At least there are a lot of games! Sadly this game is not multiplayer. The only thing that is, is the game Push-over, in which you both hold the R and L button and see is the biggest push over. Well, I guess you could count the love detector as a multiplayer doodad. Some of my favorite unlockable souvenirs are: Drum set, guitar, all the hockey games, Wario Bike, globe, seismograph and Pyoro R. Yes that’s right! The unlockable Pyoro game that is in Wario Ware and Wario Ware Touched is back, but twisted! Oh course there are some annoying souvenirs. Like the Kaleidoscopes and the phone numbers you can use in the Phone souvenir. Well, sorry for going a little overboard on the souvenirs… Because they are what makes the game have a lot of replay value. All the original characters are featured in this game and a few new ones that were included in Wario Ware Touched, Wario-man and Jimmys mom and dad are the only new ones. Actually by looking at the characters and cut-scenes, I think that this game is the supposed to be the second one in the Wario Ware story. The story goes like this in order; Wario Ware, Wario Ware Twister, Wario Ware Touched. Reasons for my beliefs are that even though Wario Ware Touched came out before Twisted, 18-bit was introduced in Twisted and in Touched they know each other well. All in all this game rocks. Even though you can tell this game was made for the Gameboy advanced rather than SP or DS… It still copes with all the systems. But it makes me wonder what would happen if you inserted it into a Gmeboy player. HA! With loads of unlockables and things you can show off to your friends, it’s no wonder that this game sells so well. Oh and just between you and me; If you insert this game into the DS’s slot 2 while having Wario Ware Touched in Slot 1… You unlock a cool thing in Touched!

RATING: 93% Amazing…That’s all I have to say.

Yeah I know... Its a old game. But what the hell! DDR Mario Mix review coming soon!
