well, seeing as it wasnt just a chicken all of the suden it had to evolve into a chicken. this means that the egg from the animal that wasnt a chicken came first and inside was the chicken. this means the egg came first.

I don't get why people think this is such a hard question. One solution is that God or Allah or Jehova or whoever made the chicken. Another is of course that the egg came first as a result of mutation, evolution, or similar from another species. Probably a bird that decided to mate with a little dinosaur or something... Sick bastards...

So when it comes down to it, it's a matter of faith. Either some god (or THE God) or scientific evolution

The chicken. Every generation evolve's a litte bit until it can be classified as a chicken. The chicken was born and then the egg formed around it. So the chicken came before the egg. (another age old problem solved by yours truly)

ok it is not considered born until it hatches so it any be true that the chicken was made first then the egg forms around it but since it isnot considered born until it hatches it would have to be the egg that came before the chicken

I've heard that before, but I believe the question is in the context of an egg that a chicken hatches from.
