Well you make a good point,it's more a what would you prefer thing, would you switch places with this person?
altho what you said isn't a very good example, you fail the course you don't get into the right classes because of it,because of that you don't get into a good college, because of that you end up on welfare etc etc thats not really an emo thing, "no one likes the clothes i wear" or "I'm not the most popular kid in school" would be better examples, they're minor problems that some freaks blow out of proportion.

if your friends having seizures and losing family, than you should be talking to him, not spreading your woes on the forum.

I think it is last thing that friend wants now, this person is not all that nice conversational company, judging the amount of random hostility in his openingpost.
Not like I did any better. ;)

Thousands die every single day, and I'm willing to bet that some of those stories make this one seem like a tea party with the British Royalty. So WAA WAA WAA. I fart on him.
P.S: Don't try to pass off someone's misfortunes as being more tragic than others'.

Whil I feel self pity is damaging and all, and agree excessive whining should be discouraged, I do not feel its right to brush off someones problems and insult them just because you or someone you know is going through worse
