I've decided to make a thread on really old classics. Nothing like the over-rated platformers like Mario or RPG's like Zelda. This list is combined of games/movies/animations way before the time of Mario and other games/animations that don't really deserve to be in the 'classics' list.

Feel free to add titles you believe would make this topic a better place to catch up on old times

In no particular order, I've listed 10.

1) Danger Mouse (Animation)
Released in the early 80s, it had over 6 Million viewers. Danger Mouse was a hero for people born in the 80's. Even the grown ups then loved Danger Mouse.

2) Street Rod 1 & 2 (Game)
A work of art and one of the most addicting games ever made. You start off poor, you buy a cheap, shit second-hand car, you race it and use the winnings to soup it up. Once your car is the shit, the "King" will eventually come around in his black Chev. If you beat him, you beat the game.

3) Who Framed Rogger Rabbit? (Game)
Monochrome goodness. I can't remember much about the game except for that it rocked hardcore. Once of the stages I can remember is where you had to clear the restaurant tables.

4) Spy Vs. Spy (Game)
Not the GB or SNES version. They were nothing like the original. Even though is was monochrome, it was great. This featured a split screen which 2 players deviously setting up traps to hurt the other. Was too great for me to describe.

5) Goblins, Gobliins, Gobliiins (game)
These were one of the best logic/puzzle games ever made. EVER MADE! It featured a lovable character, it was in colour, the little helpers you'd find along the way were adorable and the puzzles in the logic were so crazy, they rocked. I wish they'd make more of these :(

6) Kings Quest, Police Quest, "I forgot" Quest (Games)
These Quest games by Sierra were on any game-lover's PC back in the day. Really hard puzzles to solve, sometimes seemingly impossible, they were great to play and took weeks to finish. No walkthroughs back in the day. You had to sit clawing will you could figure out what commands to brew what potion... It was great!

7) 4D Boxing (Game)
Although it's called 4D boxing, you could say the characters were 3D. Although this game was quite difficult, it pleased everyone that ever acquired it. Even featuring a stat training system, it added many months of replay value.

8) Out of this World (Game)
This game was amazing. Featuring cutscenes and an amazing world, it grabbed players by the balls. Even used '3D' characters. The story line was awesome and left your heart warm when you finished playing it. It involved puzzles, shooting lazers and giant black monsters... one who joined you as a partner. OOTW still has gameplay that can be matched with games today.

9) ARGH!!! (Game)
Really old game that came out just as colour monitors started to hit the scene. Choose one of three monsters and go against another monster, eating tiny humans and smashing buildings as you walk around the arena. The only way I can describe this is "Fucking A!".

10) Stunts 3D (Game)
This game kicked so much ass. Climb into your chosen car and ride a track featuring loops, high-banked corners and launches. Crash and you're dead. What made this game incredibly amazing is that it had a track-creater/editor. Build a track for your buddy, put it on a floppy and then go play at his house. No doubt that this is one of the best classics ever made.

Well, I believe that was a decent list.

If you don't recognise at least 7 of the titles out of that list, I doubt you'll be able to add anything I'd regard as a classic. ;)

My bad.

It was CGA, EGA, Tandy or something.

It's been so long, I can't remember what the monitor/colour profiles were.

StealthSteve: Yeah. It was CGA.

Here are some more great old classics that I remember having on my 386.

Alley-Cat (Game)
I remember sitting for hours playing this one. Running on CGA graphics, it wasn't all that bad. You had to jump up windows avioding falling objects while trying to get the female pussy (no pun intended ;) ). You would also have a bonus stage and if done correctly, you'd end up with little kittens.

Para-trooper (Game)
CGA Classic. Troops would drop from the sky and you had to blast them down with your little turret. Like Ganja-Farmer. I think this was the first 'turret-shooting-sky' game ever made. Great fun.

Digger (Game)
One of the greatest classics one could ever thing of! Digger, also known as Dig-Dug, had you as a some kind of character who had to dig. As much as it sounds simple, it was a game everybody played.

Soko-ban (Game)
Made in the 1980's, this game was the first of it's kind. It's one of those where you have to push blocks on the the required spots. Make an incorrect move and you can't finish the stage. Believe it or not, the same guy who made Soko-ban went on to making Tetris.

I remember DangerMouse, it was awesome. So was speed racer, the only racer to have a car with stationary wheels!

Karateka (Game)
This game can still be played today and enjoyed. It has you as a karate fighter who needs to save his woman. The main boss would send out his minions and often one of his pet birds too. It was real challenging to play, but damn... that was an awesome game.

Nightmare on Elm Street (Game)
The only time I ever played this game was on the C64 and the early DOS version. You could pick your players and go around collecting objects while a timer ran for Freddy to get loose. It wasn't the best game for when it came about, but it definately had tons of gameplay and made players happy with the product.

I feel disappointed that only 2 people were able to recollect thoughts on these classics. Can it really be true that people were just never around for such titles and yet rave about products such as Mario.. and then continue the conversation with "that was a classic!"?

Dig Dug! That was a fun game..
Someone actually made a MOD on it, It's perverted...
It's called 'Dick Dug' and apperently, Your a penis -_-'
You have to go around digging things, and to kill the enemys,
You have to fill them up with sperm, until they explode.
To get the MOD for this, Goto I-Mockery.com
Personally, I laughed real hard at this.
Just at the concept, and the stupidity, Ooh well... I actually perfer
NES game's then XBOX or PS2, But i'm thinking about getting a PSP...

Liesure Suit Larry
ThisGame series started oh so long ago. Basically you're
a guy in a liesure suit going around solving puzzles and
having adventures in wich you usually have sex with women.
This series is still going even though the last one came out afew years ago.
It's made the jump to #D all the way from crappy pixle art (shown below, picture of first adventure).

Bring back the adenture game genre I say!!
