I guess you have never heard of any of these people, who were most assuredly not emo or "gay" (which I'm assuming has nothing to do with homosexuality in this case):
William Shakespeare, Percy Byshe Shelly, Lord Byron, William Wordsworth, Robert Browning, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, John Donne, Robert Burns and THOUSANDS of other famous poets. William Shakespeare wrote a multitude of sonnets about love, as did almost every poet that lived. I'm sure in times past, there were people like you who didn't see the value in poems, thank God no one listened to them.

Not a bad poem, Rhyme scheme and meter are good. Keep it up!
