3d flash good or bad?

I was wondering what people think of the idea ofa 3d flash compilier, one that would alow you toprogram in a 3d environment.

essentually adding in the z axies and a 3d image compiler to an existing flash program.

is this idea popular, and if so why hasn't macromedia created one such program?

but that's not by macromedia. i don't think macromedia is interested in developing 3d software let alone one that is exportable to flash. takes too much time and effort

swift 3d express is a flash extension movie clips can be created in it, it even has a feature to export to swf directly look into it

Yeah, but S3E sux! You can't model anything with it, you can only grab objects that are on the stage, I got it with my Swift 3D so lucky me. Also when you take the object into 3d, it doesn't keep all the colors!

What I'd like to see is a flash movie someone could make here on NG (someone like denvish could make it :P) and it'd be a 3D API generator. Like Denvish's API Generator, but to make 3D shapes that way and model them then give you the code. That'd get front page for sure exposign it to many others, and could eventually become a very good product!!

it can be used correctly but it takes time to learn i think each thing that is a different color has to be make sepparratl then put together i tried reading the tutorial but got distracted

I am not refering to swift 3d

swift 3d enables you to make very basic 3d models and then export them as an ilusion od 3d into flash.

I am talking about actually creating a program that would emable 3d GAMES to be played. not 2d games that have the illusion of 3d.

technically swift 3d express does do 3d but if you want true 3d i doubt flash could handle it, flash is high resource when compared to normal .exe so a real 3d flash would lag to death
