well, yeah. i mean.. isn't it kind of obvious that kids are more intelligent then their parents are for the most part. i know a lot of kid's parents who can't even figure out how to open their e-mail, and yet use it for business and what not. that's just an example though. as for tv contributing.. that's just no. i do believe though that the internet and video games can help. video games require you to solve puzzles to continue in which you learn to think differently, if you apply that to when you're learning.. it can help.

But the dumbest people in our generation are more stupid then our grandparents right? I know there is a catch to this. That's cool though, it means I'm a bigger genius then I thought I was.

It's all genetics. It's the same reason why people are bigger, and portions at food joints are bigger. Also, our generation has more ways of learning than just a textbook, we have the internet, "books on tape" (god bless them), and other books that teach the same as the textbook, but simpler. (dummies/idiots series, learn _____ in 24 hours etc)

faf-fa-f-a-fa-f-af-fafafaf-fafafackk.

I think it's because people are now more af a slave to authority. Before people wouldn't care about school, but now they do because parents are more caring and shite.

Have you noticed that It's all the smart people who play computer games and watch tv and stay in all day and it's the dumbasses who go outside and have fun.

omg my parents should really read this....then they won't whine anymore i have to go play outside or sumthin'

I would agree that kids are getting smarter at younger ages, but it is at least in part because we have to learn more sooner. A lot of the stuff that is now available in high school then was in previous years.

But it does seem to make since that video games would help you to think creatively, particularly adventure games that require problem solving.

Also I have noticed that some people that spend a lot of time watching tv are smarter then those that don’t, but it really depends on what you watch and how you watch tv. Networks like the History Channel, A&E, The Discovery Channel and such normally have good stuff on. But the real problem is if you just veg out and stare without thinking about anything other then the pretty colors, when you do that it does not matter what you watch.

no shit were smarter then our grand parents they would never find this site so im not worried. Video games increasing IQ isnt a surprise either I mean when the millitary and the cops r using VR traning sims to EDUCATE trainies, perhaps thats wat they doing

P.S If ne 1 knows wat a genius IQ plz tell me, my socially challenged friend said he had an I.Q of 134, which is believable but then he said thats a genius I.Q and I doubt that simply because geniuses can spell dont get held back a grade unless they have a.d.h.d or p.d.d like my friend.

(hows that for a bribe? and to think some people promise free porn for good votes ;) ...Vote 5 to become smarter!!! heheh)

Ahem.

Pardon me while I take a stab at something.

There probably weren’t too many “chicks” investigated in that study.

I mean, let’s face it: video games are for guys, works of literature are for gals.

Furthermore (allow me to mean a little bit longer), seems the smart guys I grew up with played video games and RPG’s played them because they were already smart.

I don’t have any kids—and my fear of siring “challenging” kids is a big reason. I imagine there are video games which help genius savants break out of their shell & communicate. At the same time, there is only so much you as “Joe Helper” can do. We live in a world with a limited number of miracles, and we’d all like to live with some more, but there is an art in accepting what you cannot change. I’m sure that runs counter to the principles we value, but people are individuals—not abstract slates on which to write principles. People are just as real as you and me.

As for video games being a major factor, and nutrition being a secondary factor - it seems that this study totally ignored the presence of better quality schools and learning facilities

hmm i must poin t that out the fact is that the state i live in has the wrose eduacation system ever and the school i goto is private so i dont fall into having the wrose public school system. alsoyou must think that you have to apply wisedom and knowledgte and how smart you are.
thats what's very uncommon in today's world well atleast in america due to the fact of caucasins who really dont have common sense.adn the japaneese guys probaly made that up since they haev small dicks there gonna say to you . i would also liek to add that kids that can't beat a video game or the first level is well basic dumb lol..and you have to put into account on our parents video games back then you know like atari games ping pong wow that really made you think lol it was pointless so they think our games are mindless and htere not they have meaning they make oyu think hard and make you use your brain in creative ways.you see growing up with sucky games made our parents to believe that all video games do is rot your braina dn probaly when atari was out it did rot your brain lol i end my case.
