Sprite animation may be a form of art, but only on electronic media. It's inhibited by that, and even then most sprite "animators" use pre-made trademarked sprites from gaming companies. I think anyone with a bit of brains in their head would realize that sprite animation isn't going to get them anywhere if they're serious about the field as a whole. Plus, like I said, it's limited. Art can only go so far in the sprite world.
Agreed. However, not denying your opinion, but 3d animation is the same as sprites. 3d models are made from the artists work. Then the animators are the ones who actually make them move with what they have. I think character design does play a part in animation, but I'm sure doing sprites can give him practice for movie production. I am not sure if it's the best for camera angles considering all sprite animations are 2d and can't be in a 3d angle unless changed around, but plotwise, it could get him somewhere. Yes, it's not exactly the best thing to do, but i'm sure he thinks it's better than watching tv and doing nothing productive. I do agree that sprites can take less time because they get away with not as great fbf animation or movie production, but like I said, it's not all bad. Plus, it's not their faults if they're successful. It's the users on NG you must convince, which is almost impossible. Yes, you could tell the animators to stop, but it's not crap like free blam points coming into the portal. Sigh...I just wish votes were cast fairly and justly on a basis whether you know that the movie was tough to make and they did it correctly, not whether the person thinks its crap or thinks its awesome, and spams 10's/0's on your reviews.
All I think should change is fanboy groups that overrate movies like Foamy. I mean, that Hurrican Katrina flash was so terrible I almost had my eyes bleed at the sight of it on front page...
