I have never been in my life untill today. I was raised watching movies like 1990s Dracula when I was around 4, so I've always been immune to movies. Violence dosent freak me out either (thanks mom!) but today I was actually scared by a game. My friend had just beaten his Doom 3, so he let me borrow it saying it was the scariest shit ever. I told him he was a punk ass so he advised me to turn the speakers up really lous and turn out all the lights while playing after dark. So of course I took the challenge. Damn man, I've never been so freaked out by any entertainment device before but that, ah... Theres only one thing that bothers me, and thats chanting. I was already pretty freaked out but then it did this effect where the screen tints dark red, the regular sound gets very faint and all you can hear are womens pain crys and chanting. I had to stop playing for a while after that.
Great game

My father made me watch the Exorcist series when I was 5.. needless to say, I was somewhat traumatized.
I've also lost the thrill associated with watching a good horror flick. :(

I would have cried myself to sleep for years if I watched the Exorcist when I was 5. I had a few restless nights when I watched it at 18.

well doom 3 wasnt scarry at all to me, but that is because you had heavy weapons that can blow the shit out of those creatures. sure it was heart racing, but i didnt turn it off, i kept going and going. well ok i did turn it off tons of times, but not because of fear. now silent hill 4....that is freaky. i love it.
ok a movie that scared me is the movie war of the worlds. when the people were being vaporized in the begining. i get really into movies, its like im there, and thinking what it would be like to be there, that scared me so much, i felt bad for the people.
the movie house on haunted hill, not the origonal made in like the 70's, the remake, made in 2000 i believe or 1999. it was a while ago.

SUre. I was watching Nightmare On Elm Street and Child's Play movies at the age of 5 and 6. Those gave me some heavy fear.
As for games, Fatal Frame scared the bejesus out of me and probably still could.

Well, the Xbox game "The Suffering" does scare me a bit, and that movie "The Grudge" scared me occasionally. Oh, The Ring did a good job at that, too.

Doom 3 also scared the shit out of me, i tried to play it at dark with the earphones on too. I'd pay to see someone play Doom 3 all night and not get scared

i was excited when i played that
i turned off the lights put it on my big 50" got the surround sound out and waited till 1 in the morning
THEN IT WAS DA GAME TIME!
and then random boring 5 minutes every game usually has, get into town, and my guy ranomly wants to follow a giant streak of blood in the street of an abandoned town after he saw a MESSED up "human" walk into the fog.... what a retard
then he meets his first zombie by the radio (cutscene time) and the graphics kinda sucked BUT WAIT they show a backshot of the zombie and HIS FUCKING ASS-CRACK HAS SO MUCH DETAIL AND VISUAL SKILL PUT INTO IT THAT GAMES NOW DONT MATCH IT!
and i just started going into hysterics and me and my friends now know that game by the ass-crack zombies...

Back in the day when Resident Evil 1 was still new, that game scared the hell out of me every second I played it. The music is just eerie as hell and I think the lack of control over Jill's actions (or Chris... but who ever played as him?) made it that much more spooky. After RE2, they became more fun than scary, but then there was Silent Hill... the first one. I still say, to this day, that has to be the most fucked up game I've ever played. There is SO much wrong with it... I love it! Try playing it in the dark with the radio turned off!

"Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare" really scared the living shit out of me when I first got it... just freaky as hell. Most of it was just startling, like monsters jumping out at you, and loud noises... but the plot was pretty creepy as well. Unfortunately I can't get it to work on my computer anymore...

Pulling an all-nighter while watching the exorcism at 3:00am is pretty scary, other then that I haven't really played any scary games. :-P
