Try Norton twice! That's what I do when it doesn't fix it the first time.

Einstien's definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results.

If you really can't remove the virus, I have a 100% surefire way of removing it.. but your not going to like it.
Transfer every uninfected file to either a diffrent disk drive, a cd, or whatever, and format your c drive. No virus or trojan or spyware can survive

Oooh! This guy's obviously one step ahead of you!
My suggestion would be to prevent getting viruses by not downloading random crap. If you have Norton protection and Windows Firewall running then these things don't usually happen by themselves.

Use controlaltdelete to see if awvtt is in use under "processes." End it, then it won't be in use, and you can delete it.

Before you give up and smash your computer, you should try running a scan and/or deleting the infected file manually in Safe Mode.
To restart in Safe Mode (Windows XP):
Run > type "msconfig" > go to "BOOT.INI" tab and check "/SAFEBOOT" > click "OK" and let the computer restart
To go back to regular mode:
Run > type "msconfig" > uncheck "/SAFEBOOT" in "BOOT.INI" > check "Normal Startup" on the "General" tab > click "OK" ...
At least, that's how it works on my computer... if you aren't sure, just look up Safe Mode instructions on your own computer's help files.

Install this program...
http://www.sysintern..ProcessExplorer.html
Then go to Find > Find Handle...
Search for the name of that dll file and then "Close Handle". Then try deleting it again.

To restart in Safe Mode (Windows XP)....
A much simpler way to reboot in Safe Mode:
Click "Restard Computer." Hold F8.
