Brackenwood will hit again

Here's good news for the flash amateurs and Brackenwood fans out there.
I don't think I need to introduce Adam Phillips, right ?
Well, here it goes anyway:

Adam Phillips, is a well-known flash animator, not only on the internet, but in real life too. He is the owner of www.biteycastle.com, his (great) all-flash-made website. You might not know who he is, but you might have seen some of his work on NG, no doubt. I mean come on. Prowlies at the River ? Bitey of Brackenwood? Don't tell me you never heard of those. Anyways. Well, after winning the big prize for TGSNT this summer, Adam Phillips kept animating the world he created, Brackenwood. It might have taken quite some time (he quit his job at Disney to fully work on Brackenwood, but has to do some freelance work to pay the bills, meaning he doesn't have as much time for Brackenwood as he thought he would), but you'll see, it's worth it. Really.

So in case you guys hadn't understood ... Adam Phillips is releasing a new cartoon !
Go read all about it in the alpha he submitted on NG !!
I won't copy/paste the interview and all he says... But you guys should really read it.
Don't forget to thumb up the alpha, it's going to be GREAT.

Who doesn't love Brackenwood hehe ? It's one of the best things that ever happened since J.R.R. Tolkien created his own world! I mean, Brackenwood is like Middle Earth ... except smaller, with less history (for the moment!), and more suitable for everyone ! :]

It's just awsome to see how Adam keeps improving himself. The screenshots looked very promosing and the little preview already gave me a good image of the finished product.

Yeah. Can you imagine that if he still had a "real" work, he would work even faster and faster? I remember him saying one time that if he hadn't quit his job at Disney (Disney ended up closing-in Sydney anyways I think), the cartoon would probably be finished by now. That was like a few weeks (maybe months) ago! Meh. I really wish Brackenwood is going to be famous so he can work on it 24/7.

Yeah. There really is NO barrier in flash animation for him. I think every single one of his cartoons will keep getting better and better as time goes by and his skills improve and as new versions of Flash keep getting released. He's the Ronaldinho Gaucho of Flash! Always improving. lol.

Yes they are. But as Seizure_Dog said, I don't really think you can totally compare Krinkels and A.P. Their style is totally different, and so is their fundamental way of animating. Krinkels is all about smooth tweening, whereas A.P. is into frame by frame animation. Both make wonders out of their style, but if you ask me, I prefer A.P.'s style. Honestly.
That being said, I also DO hope you can upgrade your computer by then. There's nothing more sad than seeing someone having to watch a Flash movie in LOW quality for it to run aproximatively smoothly. It ruins the movie so much. You can always go to a friend's house =P

Yeah. I'm pretty much sure everyone thinks "yeah yeah yeah, he just came and left a few masterpieces, but isn't much active". Well, he may not submit as many movies as we (and he!) would like to, but he sure is thinking Brackenwood 24/7. I mean, it's like a part of his life, and a part of the fan's life too if you will... Meh. He's still active and working ! =D

Haha, indeed. But it's also realy nice to see his style being changed. I mean, if you compare the backgrounds with the older Brackwood movies, you can see there's a big difference. I'm not sure if I can discribe it as a total new style, or improvement - but that was how it looked for me.

But like Adam also said in his Alpha, he can now use more effects because of Flash Player 8, it all makes it easier for him to animate and draw. Which, the public can't complain about, right?

Personally I can't imagine if people don't like it. Perhaps there are some people who don't like the story - which I also can't imagine - but I still got the feeling they just watch it because of its high quality.

Maybe, one day, it will be put on television like like the Happy Tree Friends. :)

I don't really think his style changed. And if it did (that's a matter of discussion ! :P), I don't think it did much. The only "new" thing I can remark on his style is obviously the amazing details and the extra-time he puts on his drawings, such as the first picture I posted on this thread. It's a really detailed picture! Plus, it has been shrinked, which sucks a lot.
Meh. It's true that things changed since we first saw Bitey of Brackenwood hit the portal, I mean, when I watch it and see the opening sequence, with the camera going through the trees and stuff ? I'm like "meh, I've seen him do better", as in the trees have much less detail and "life" in them.

Me too, I don't really understand how can people not like it. In graphics level, if you have touched flash and manipulated it, you can't restrain yourself from being in love with the graphics. The music, made by himself is just awesome. No doubt about it, even though this is up to people lol. And the story ... Well. You've gotta be quite "into" these kind of "magical worlds" a little bit I guess. Kind of like Tolkien ... But still, it's too good to not be liked :]

We can still enjoy the detail. But what I mean with style is that he put more detail in it. I agree, no style has been changed - that would be a shame, because you shouldn't change something that is that good-looking.

I've checked the lowest review of Prowlies at the river and it contained this:

"you're ok adam, before i saw Nim's Winter Tale and Gooberstory i thought this was impressive. Now it's mediocre. "

Personally I think this user hasn't even wacthed futher then the preloader. He's got to be serious!

I really do hope for him, this being his dream...

Yeah, especially when it's pretty much the same "thingy", beautiful graphics, beautiful sound, beautiful story. Ola Bergner and Adam Phillip's admire each other's work and they inspire each other a lot too, which is understandable.
Their style is totally different though. Ola does a shit load of smooth tweens and it's animations reside a lot in graphics, backgrounds and music, whereas Adam's style lies more in animation itself, even though there are of course beautiful backgrounds and music too. I just don't see Ola as a big big animator. I might be wrong, once again, but that's just my opinion.

Well, it's a little bit off-topic, but did you know that Ola Bergner has a new project called "Nim's Journey"? Meh. If you want to check it out: Nim's journey's website . It's pretty good. It's not updated very much, but the interface of the website and everything is just so good to not be seen. He shows how the project is going from month to month and stuff...
