Forget about these people who are saying that in 30 or 40 years China's economy will rival the US's. China will surpass the US economy in 10

that white europeans are infact the master race, jk. na, there is no "european" economy, just a lot of smaller economies. no european country has a large enough land mass, natural resources or population size to rival america's economy, or the emerging economy of china, unless they suffer a large depression

China is obviously on the rise, what we really need is U.S. diplomats there. Well, I've been studying the Chinese language and writing for two years now, so I figure that in twenty years a bizillion jobs will just be handed to me on a platter. China will kick our asses both in economics and millitary strength, because they already have nukes, they have an endless amount of soldiers to throw at an enemy, and they are industrializing rapidly. Props out to China.

Of course I also wish they'd stop the whole dictatorship thing, and I wish they would free Tibet. Once they are an established economic power, and once they show their millitary's might, they aughta work on their world image. They should just release the Panchen Lama and have free Communist elections, (I assume they'd use Communist canidates :S) Then I think people would start to flock to them instead of America. The Chinese could take America's place as the prominent world power by becoming an economic giant, by showing of their army, and by bettering their public image. If China gets the world on its side, then America will decline more rapidly.

Yea, there is a myth in Chinese folklore, it alledgedly happened in 2170 B.C., of an archer named Hou Yi who shot down ten suns in the sky because his people were too hot, and he was granted a pill of life by the emperor Yao. The pill could only be taken after a year of fasting and prayer. Hou's greedy wife Chang E stole the pill. She rose to the moon because she had not prepared herself to take it.

Not entirely accurate. MG Rover actually did go bust, perhaps it wouldn't have but the company that was thinking of buying it, Shanghai Automotive, needed the permission of the Chinese government to go ahead, in fact I think it's owned by the government.... Anyway, now that it has gone bust I hear that China may take on MG Rover at a knock down price.
China needs to have a seperation of the state and the economy and butt the hell out of private business.

Taiwan has nothing to do with us. Now if china invaded Hawaii, then it would be a different story. Americans need to learn to keep their nose in their own damn bussiness.

So they didn't allow a spy to leave after they were caught? Good for them.

I believe that soon enough, china is going to become the foremost country, and a nations status is going to depend on whether or not they are in good standings with china. To be honest, the economic power wielded by china is quite frightening. Its enough to bring a small country to its knees. Not that I think china would become abusive in that nature, but it is something to think about.
Also, I like the chinese school system and wish that countries like america took a more proactive approach to schools. Rather than look to countries that are succeeding at education, like china, for help, we keep passing ridiculous policies that just shift around money and blame.

We would get involved in a chinese invasion of taiwan because then china would its communist rules and be forced to switch from a democratic society. America wouldn't get involved if this would happen peacefully but taiwan should not be forced to switch governments.

Its obvious that China is on the road to super-power, if its not there already. I see a few possibilities with China's future; they step up as the world's leading power and/or invade neighboring countries once America collapses (and yes, don't kid yourself, America is on the road to collapse; has been for a couple decades now)
Or maybe they'll have one of their infamous revolutions and install a new form of government. Will it be democracy? Real communism? Military-run state? A return to the monarchy of old? Independent city-states? Who knows?
And theres, of course, the possibility that 'China' as we know it will be destroyed whenever WW3 breaks out, but this applies to all other nations in the world.

The US might see this as an encroachment on the Philippines. But, more importantly, it would illustrate the willingness of China to invade another country that it thinks it should have, and then convince the population that it's the right thing to do. Eventually they're going to go after something the US cares about, especially if there is no reaction from America to the invasion of Taiwan.

What do you mean 'once America collapses?' Where is the evidence for this? If you mean the rise of Christian fundamentalism and it's attempts to bypass the constitution then I don't think it's that much of a threat, at least not for a very long while yet.

The American economy has nowhere to go but down. Most of the world doesn't like America, including some of its own citizens, weakening political strength both around the world and from within. The military is too thinly stretched around the world, including countries whom want nothing to do with a foreign government owning land for military bases, which weakens America's popularity even more. Civil Rights progression for those whom 'aren't normal' (homosexuals, transexuals, paegans, etc) is progressing reletivly quickly in all other major nations, whereas in America it seems most don't even see it as Civil Rights.
Add in a few more factors, chisel in the details, and there you have the collapse of "The Decadent Empire of the West"

This thread is so full of foolish Chinese nationalism it makes me sick. Also, to the post above me:
Amerca has the LARGEST GDP in the world.
http://en.wikipedia...by_GDP_%28nominal%29
The EU has to combine in order to even make a dent to Americas superior economic dominance. Wheres China? Is it even close to make a threat to the United States? In fact, Made In China has come to mean a cheap product that will not only break quickly but is of low quality. Made in China means its a piece of shit sweatshop created thing in the minds of many, including myself. Who the fuck will look at some shitty Chinese car and say, "Oh man I really want that car." I mean cmon, not only do you have to pay more, but I doubt the Chinese have unlocked the mindset of Americans. People would much rather have a Benz, or hell, even a Japenese car.
Concerning the Citzens: Only the famous make big claims against the United States. Within the United States, even in the North, many people do indeed love their country and would gladly die in order to save it. Say what you say, but patriotism still reigns within the minds of many.
Everyone in the world hates America? Are you fucking kidding me? Just because some crackpot celeberties say, "lol us is dumb" doesnt mean it speaks for the world. We GIVE countries democracy, we BLEED AMERICAN LIVES in order to pass the torch of democracy on to the world.
And think about this. If the UNited States was to suddenly collapse, guess what. The world economy would be in a fucking huge depression. Get your mind out of the rut of CHinese Propganada

America has a long lasting background with the miltary. I doubt anyone of these countries could even dream about battling the United States.
Not only that, but you forget to mention this, "These figures do not take into account differences in the cost of living in different countries, and the results can vary greatly from one year to another based on fluctuations in the foreign exchange rates of the country's currency."
