I've heard ParagonX9's stuff, and I'd like to learn some techniques for drum n bass songs. I've been producing music for some odd years now, 4 - 6, and am completely self taught, just lookin for some guidlines here and there.

Any help would be appreciated!

Well it all depends on what you feel like making. Do you think making regular drum n bass will express your abilities as a musician?

I personally dont think there is such a thing as "regular" drum n bass, it always has that personal flair by the artist, you know what I mean?

anywayz, I'm kinda into that hard hittin synth heavy DnB, if you get what I'm tryin to say

Well, it aint that easy to know what level ur on until one actually heard something uve made.
U´ve been activley producing for a couple ofyears now, but i dont know what prog u use and so on.
Go check my song the drifter out, thats the latest attempt of dnb ive made. Judging from that u´d be able to tell if i can be of any help or not.
If so, submit something uve made so i/other can see what ur up for.

Are we speaking along the lines of Calyx, Teebee, Rob Data, Kemal, or Goldie? Maybe a hint of Dieselboy? If so, that's quite hard to make...

Breakcore, Jungle, Dark, there are several kinds, the good ones are the ones the ones that take full advantage of their drums.

I like Goldie, but his formula is just too simplistic. He reforms his drums only to repeat them endlessly.

I've always considered DnB as a heavy emphasis on a deep kickdrum set with a low melodic bass. ParagonX9's stuff is of legend because he uses a simple mix coupled with a little distortion.

Alternating genres isn't a career change, try it out once, even if it's an experiment.

aight mate, i myself use reason 3 alone, more or less. well, mainly reason, that is. I have no knowledge at all of FL, but you just submit some stuff here and ill try to help u out any way i can. :)

Do know that i´m quite new to the genre, i never really listenend to DnB (exclude paragonx9) until a few weeks (!) ago, but im gettin there quite quickly :)

Just tell me when somethings goin on. U can reach me via e-mail/msn (same one) or through here. E-mail is in profile.
