This game is about half way done. I wanted to know what kind of changes I should make and things like that. I'll make it 2 times as long, if any of you get to the vent, that's where it ends. Also, there are lots of little glitches, I'll get those out too. Tell me what to change basically. Here's the link:

WASD - Movement
Mouse - Aim/Shoot (only used for taking out electronical equipment NOT ENEMIES)
Q/E/R - Murder Methods (get up close behind someone to use)

The game looks cool so far, but its a lil hard. And... it got annoying when the camera spotted me. Also, i tried using the q/e/r buttons and they didnt work. You might wanna notice that in the instructions page, the PLAY buttons does not work. Other than that pretty good game.

Get up right behind an enemy, and the Q/E/R options will appear in big red letters at the top right, I'm going to make a better tutorial that explains everything better, cause right now it doesn't seem like anyone understands the game without any direct instructions. Just shoot the cameras before they spot you, you have to be almost directly under them in order for them to get you.

Extremely nice, I love the whoe Splinter Cell, sort of stealth concept please finsih this!! :D and quick... err how does Right Now sound? :) hah nah but really nice keep 'em coming!....

the game was alright but you had to get too close like your head was in their ass or something like that the .controls were ok but change Q with F. also could you widen the veiw maybe like 1/4 an inch.

Fix it so you have limited smoke grenades. I just smoked every guy and beat it easy.

Putfile autosizes it for you to whatever, the actual swf file (as it will be shown on newgrounds) is much larger. I'll make it so that you can be a little further back, thanks for that. And I think you mean Q/E/R right?

Well, I'm not sure if you were getting onto this or not, but:
1. the green should be dimmed in the instruction menu to make it more legible and the play button needs to be programmed there too.
2. melee takedowns shouldn't be the only way to kill someone (wait, I either killed a guy in 2-3 shots or he just dropped dead [they never died when I shot them before and there seemed to be a little wait before dying]), needs to be instant-kill headshots though. I know not being able to use the gun to kill gives it a more stragetic element, but there'll be alot of pissed people in the portal if they have a pistol, but can't kill that way.
3. cameras shouldn't be able to see when all the lights are shut off
4. enemies should hear things like gunshots or wonder why the light just stopped working
5. Finally, although it's easy to see without the night vision, the night vision seems pretty nice, except for authenticity there needs to be:
- a grain filter on it
- no other colour than shades of green on it (shipment sign). You should be able to to this by making anything with colour a graphic or a movie clip and use a boolean to switch frames to one without colour)
- the light should affect the night vision so much more (the way you have it does the opposite of what it should do), maybe even to the extent of placing it's layer over the green filter (under the black), then in the movie clip, duplicate what you already have, and for the duplicates, increase the alpha level of the spread area and turn the light white (it will grab a light green tint from the green filter under it)

Otherwise it's nice, and if I overexplained anything, sorry didn't mean to insult you or anything, I'm just kinda bored right now. Good job, can't wait to see it finished.

I'm really stuck on that. It would be way too easy if you could just go around shooting people in the head. If you shoot near an enemy, I mean the bullet has to pass on them or right next to them, they do get half alerted, so two shots and they'll go after you.

The code takes everything and makes it a different shade of green (or makes it black) the problem was, it used to work, but all the red stuff, including tutorial text, murder options, etc. would all turn black and you couldn't see them. So I had to change it a bit to include some red stuff. Sorry, but you'll have to live with that part.

I think more of a configaration were w,a,s and d are actions and the arrows move around but then u cant use te mose so scrap that, and i cant be assed to delete so i keep on typing and now im just wasting space, how about
i find z,x,c z and S ver ycomfortable with space ctrl and alt as actions itsll be quicker for the player to learn, but remebre im just one persaon and this suits me this config may not suit other ppl

Uhmm sorry if any of this has been said before but -

Point no.1 - Make the distance for kills farther off, you don't wanna be sniffing they're ass to kill them.

Point no.2 - Nightvision, lights are too dark with NV, in most games, NV makes lights almost blindingly light, so if you can get that, that'd be good.

Point no.3 Controls - Perfect, except the kill buttons should be Up, Down, And Left, and right if you want ot make a new one.

Point no.4 - They have EARS, (no harshness intended) so when you shoot a light, shouldn't they hear it?

Point no.5 - Pistol, to shoot people, at least give us tranq's so we can drag them into a dustbin, but make some areas more concentrated with guards, so you can't ALWAYS do that.

Point no.6 - For those action people, give them a bonus sniping level once in a while, just to appease everyone.

Point no.7 - Storyline pleesh :D, make it anything you want. i don't care, but i like motivation, so throw in a storyline.

Thats my imput - 6/10 without improvements, 9/10 with improvements

That's the shiiiiiiiiiit !

Try maybe to put the movment controls on the Arrow Keys, it's better for US EUROPEAN ( whe don't have the qwerty keybord but the azerty, yes all the letters are mixed up ! ).

This is some nice work and I'll be glad to help ( for the cinematics for example ) !

Be sure to continue this way and I think is a bit pretentious to say that the project is halfay, becuz it needs a lot of improvements and more elaboration !

In overall nice job

Great stuff muffin man. Points:

- You are going to put moving enemies in right? with walk paths/patterns

- You had to get up a bit too close to do the stealth attacks, it was more on them than behind them.

- Some interactive stage elements would be perfect for this game, are cupboards / lockers/ any other containers to hide in a possibility?

- The pistol was used more as a tool for shooting out lights than as a weapon, not saying thats a bad thing but it will piss some groups of people off. Whats really needed is one hit kills from headshots, you could make this possibly if you gave out a lot more points for proper stealth kills, and none for simple shot kills.

- Lighting and night vision was awesomely done, no problems there stick to the formula :D

- Not a major priority as it would be a lot more work but giving a little more depth via being able to travel upward.downward more would give it a boost. To be able to climb up and hang from rafters or go down under the floorboards would make it a little more non-linear I'm not saying this is high priority, as the game is good enough already

- Nothing wrong with graphics, big improvement on grave 1/2 lol

- Sound is excellent, though would a fade in/out be possible when playing the alert tune, as it feels rough when it just Cuts/jumps straight between calm stealth style and heavy load alert style.

Awesome stuff, lots of potential, good luck ; )

Thanks alot everyone for all the replies, at was at school so I couldn't keep up. Yes T-H I will be putting in moving enemies, just a little later on it the game, once people get the basics down (I'll probrably throw some moving enemies in after the vent). I'll think about head shots, for a no point style kill, still would be too easy though. Thanks a lot for the grain filter thing you were talking about, if you could do it, I'd love to see it! Also, cinematics would be awesome! We could talk more about that over AIM if you want, I have my SN in my profile. All these suggestions are really helpful, so keep um coming! I never knew that there were other formats of keyboards, must be impossible to play this with a scattered buttons. I'll see if I can think of something to make a better layout for both, maybe an option to use WASD or the Arrow Keys. If I made it so that they heard you shoot out lights, then there would be no way around dying, sorry, but they'll have to continue being deaf. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!

yay. it's really a lot cooler now, the added sounds are nice, kind of easy, but still very good. i know someone said this, but maybe add a stungun, i just love those things.

i dont really mind the wasd for movement but the other controls are too appart. instead of qer maybe ert? other than that its a great game and i cant wait till it comes out
