Gooch looks like a pretty big guy all around. He probably has broad shoulders and a large skeleton (eww). Gooch has most likely been big all his life so even though 310 sounds like a lot he carries it well and probably has considerable weight in muscle and bones.
Has your dad always been that heavy? Typically people who gain lots of weight or too much for their body frame tend to have less muscle and carry it worse than someone who has always been large.

Why do you want to lose weight? I weight the exact same as you and do I look fat?

Completly cut out fizzy drinks (not only are they bad for you, but their addictive and make your body crave unhealthy food).
Get a lot of fruits and veg tha tyou like, and when you want to snack, snack on yogurts or grapes. Thin people often eat just as much as the rest, but they eat healthily.
Try and eat more veg, even if you don't initally like the taste. Eventually you'll train your body as well as your mind to eat healthy.
Oh and avoid fad diets, they suck

If you weight only 137lb then you need to gain weight not lose it. Try a protien rich diet and do your excersise 3 times a week.
A good work out starts with some basic stretchs. Make sure even muscle is stretched as well.
After than get your heart rate up buy doing some warm ups for 2 minutes. (thats the hardest part of the excersize so don't quit)
Then your ready to work out. When you lift weight you have to make sure you posture is perfectly straight. Don't get lazy and start lifting with your back or else you WILL get injuries.
Take a couple minutes break between each set.
After your done you 3 sets of 12 per muscle you worked out. Do some cool down stretches and a brief 2 minute cool down areobics.
One last thing to remember. If your muscle feels warm, thats good but if it burns or stings thats bad. If your joints hurt then thats bad and don't overwork yourself.
First time weight lifters shouldn't lift anymore than 20 pounds. Depending on your own capabilities. I started with 10 lbs and worked my way up.

All I can do is recommend you eat healthily and get loads of excercise. I suppose that's what's good about my dad making me get loads of excercise by running, cycling and swimming, at least I'm in better shape than anyone I know.

I've lost like 40 pounds in the past 6 months...dont know why or how....but its weird, but then again, i dont really eat that much....with the exception of ramen noodles. eat lots of ramen and walk really far...worked for me.
