Aw shit. I take back about how I said Hendrix did the best. That reminded me about Petrucci. Best solo ever = Under A Glass Moon by Dream Theater.

"Sweet Child O' Mine" has the best solo... Fast yet melodic and emotional... Go Slash.

Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Pride And Joy" that entire song is just too technically perfect sounding for human fingers. Every time i hear it it boggles my mind.

How can anyone definately say that there is an absolute best solo? It's not possible. Malmstein's "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" rocked out pretty hard. Slash's solo at the '95 Grammy's was insane, too.
Think you're pretty clever...

Yes please. I bought Rock Discipline but then I broke my dvd player =(
I forget what song it was exactly, but it's somewhere in Awake. I've been listening to that album a lot this past week.

The second solo in Iron Man by Black Sabbath. This song never gets any credit simply because people only listen to the opening riff. The solo has a kick ass sound to it and Geezer is playing his bass so fucking fast. Toni Iommi is god.

There is no such this as the best solo ever, since it's all a matter of personal opinion. However, my favorite is the solo from Bat Country by Avenged Sevenfold.

It was amazing at the part when the bombs were dropping he made his guitar recplicate the sound of bombs dropping. My favorite would be Moby Dick by Led Zeppelin because it has both an awesome guitar and drum solo.

This is a tuff gig. There are soooooo many great ones.
Someone else said it here, and I agree. The Eagles HOTEL CALIFORNIA solo work kicks the sh[inazzzzz]it in licks and length. I think the way they trade off, like in Freebird, is what makes it phatter.
