I found this test a long time ago and thought it'd be interesting to post it here and see everyone's results.
It should be noted that the first question, the one about whether globalisation should serve humanity or the transnational corporations, is badly put IMO, it actually means if you think globalisation is able to serve humanity via some sort of leftist welfare state policy or through a capitalist 'trickle down' policy. Both are serving humanity but in different ways.
When I first took it my results were far Left in terms of economics and libertarian in the social aspect, it's been interesting to trace my journey from the hard Left to a strong free market stance.
My results now read:
Economic Left/Right: 6.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.62

Oh this test, again...
I'm sort of liberal, with a touch of conservative, and a pinch of socialism.
Injured Workers rights were taken away in the 1920's by an insurance company (WCB), it's high time we got them back.

Tried again after a long time (2 years maybe?) and the results are still the same :-)
It's not surprising that some questions have answers that both seem right... because they are both right depending on your political stance. If you stand in the middle... then both will look sensible.
That's why they say in movies the best villains are the ones that are trying to do good... in their own twisted way. :)

I forgot my exact numbers, I did this a while ago, I was -4 south I think, near the bottom (middle bottom), and -.25 to the left, so towards the liberal side but not very.

Economic Left/Right: 4.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.41
As usual...
But personally, I feel I'm slightly more economically right as well as more libertarian. Many of these questions were extremely bad for determining such things. As I've said previously, politics is not simply some game where you point a plot on a graph and that is you.

It's about time another one of these topics popped up. It's always interesting to see the changes from a few months ago to now.
Economic Left/Right: 1.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.31
It's been about a year since I last took that test, I've moved a little to the right, though I'm still fairly libertarian.
I checked my results on www.selectsmart.com/president, the other major political test, and got the following results:
2. Badnarik, Michael - Libertarian (78%)
3. Bush, President George W. - Republican (53%)
4. Peroutka, Michael - Constitution Party (52%)
5. Dean, Gov. Howard, VT - Democrat (46%)
6. Sharpton, Reverend Al - Democrat (44%)
7. Cobb, David - Green Party (43%)
This is fairly different from when I took this test nearly a year ago. I've shifted more towards the views of Badnarik, and away from Bush, who was tied with Badnarik in the results last time.
I think the political compass determines your political stance more on ideas and philsophy, while the SelectSmart test determines it using your actual stance on current issues.
So often times it happens, that we live our lives in chains, and we never even know we had the key...

With the select smart one I got:
2. Kucinich, Rep. Dennis, OH - Democrat (88%) Click here for info
3. Dean, Gov. Howard, VT - Democrat (86%) Click here for info
4. Cobb, David - Green Party (85%) Click here for info
5. Nader, Ralph - Independent (85%) Click here for info
6. Kerry, Senator John, MA - Democrat (77%) Click here for info
7. Brown, Walt - Socialist Party (76%) Click here for info
8. Edwards, Senator John, NC - Democrat (76%) Click here for info
9. Sharpton, Reverend Al - Democrat (76%) Click here for info
10. Clark, Retired General Wesley K., AR - Democrat (76%) Click here for info
There were 8 more but I decided not to show them, as I look at the list I think to myself "What the fuck." Is Dennis Kucinich really closer to my views? There weren't alot of middle questions like the compass (i.e. I support this, I don't support this, or No preference/none of the above/ prefer alternate solutions) there is the priority thing on the bottom of each question but I would like answers that are more a long the lines of "I agree with some of their views."
