This is just a theoretical question but due to the rising tuiton of Uni and other forms of higher education, will Uni soon enough just be restricted to the Upper class and be in short a aristocratic education.
And do you think there is anyway fo reversing these trends like government controlled University's and other forms of aid.

Well... it is rising, but if I can afford to go to a 35,000 college then a state college that costs a third with some of the same grants and loans will be affordable for a while
Eventually everything will unafordable, the stocks will all crash we will set up a new currency and everything will go back to the way it was years ago.

They'll probably make more scholarships for those who can't afford it, and if the prices get to high, I'm sure they'll adjust it to fit a lot of people.

It will take a turn around fromt he govt to make it lower. They will once again have to invest mor emoney into schools to make tution more affordable. Its ironic, the generation that benifited most from low tution rates is the one that raised them.

I don't know what is 'Uni'.
Unless you meant 'university'... then nevermind...
I don't know how it's done over in Glasgow,
but there are several ways to get in a university here, even with increasing expenses.
Comparing my family to the families of
the people at Santa Clara University... well they are... well... they take vacations to Europe every year, and they say they're bored "doing the same things every year". And while it is a diverse school, many Latino students are shocked to see so many White students all in the same place. I remember back in middle school, there was only one white kid-- and he was the diversity.
Not to say that SCU is the most expensive place,
but you can tell who comes from privilaged families.
I remember this girl complaining to me about how imcompetent the hired help have been, and that she is so stressed that she needed a full body message *ha*.
Higher education isn't an unattainable thing...
If my parents came here to the US penniless-- mom was the migrant farm worker, and dad the do-it-all-handyman and photographer-- then most other better off folks should be able to obtain even some junior college units.

There's a lot of grants and scholarships out there if you need the finicial aid. And if you still need more money you can always take on a part time job. Or if none of those work there's always the choice of inlisting in the military and having them pay to send you to college. And employers like the people who have served in the military so you can get a high paying job right out of the service.

True. Right now, there is a greater need for experienced, knuckle-dragging apes who know how to drill for oil than there is for philosophy professors. I'm getting after it. There are 18-year-old high school dropouts who are driving brand new 4X4s and making $50k/year.

Not quite. I know some people who've taken the this route. You can go into the coast guard, or the martime marines. Both of those services don't involve any combat. Also there's how you do on your ABSFAB (it's a placement test to see what you're going to be trained in) and depending upon that you can get put into a job where you won't even see combat. Also for people who want to become doctors, there's the Navy, they have a great medical training program, in fact a lot of good doctors are fromer Navy surgeons and medics.

I have to use both. There is a lot of math involved. I also have learned about electrical systems, diesel mechanics, welding, geology, micropaleontology, heavy equipment operation, computer skills (I'm on a computer paid for by Enron Oil and Gas. I have 100mbps satellite internet!), rigging, safety issues, and, well the list goes on and on. I'm doing work that usually calls for a B.S. degree in geology. There are universities that have PhD programs in petroleum engineering. Of course, when I started, i was just a big, dumb, grunt of a worker, but there is so much to learn. I love my job!

Yeah right. That is one of the stupidest things Ive heard in awhile.
I suggest we implement deterrents for the rich. Something like 80-90% of their income goes straight to public funding (Schools, Healthcare, University Tuitions and such) particularly for students and residents in lower class areas who recieve little on the opportunity of equal schooling.
That is a wonderful way to chase all our rich people out of our country. SUPER wonderful way.
People should also be limited in how much they own. I suggest a maximum of 10-50 million dollars can be owned. Anything over that limit must either be A) Shared among a group of 5+ people who make less than $100 000 a year or something like that.
Again, the rich would either move or send all their liquid assets to some Swiss account or Cayman Islands.
We need to help preserve the equality of classes, and prevent the middle class from being squeezed back into a depression.
You intend to do this by destroying a class. Indeed, a good idea.
What I am basically proposing here is a working balanced system of communism.
I thought you were a Libertarian? What the hell are you? Confused?
Although the current democracy that we already have staged will remain the same the way tax-dollars are spent and the way that tax-dollars are collected need to be changed for the greater welfare of the average citizen.
I would never follow this system. I dont ever plan on making that much cash but I sure as hell dont think its right for the foverment to rape a single class, no matter how much they make.

The military is a good way to get a great education, they pay you to go to school and cover your expenses. You then have a job waiting for you when you graduate in the field you are interested in (how many people can say that). You get experience in your field. You ar elocked in for a a few years (4 or 8 depending on what you are doing, 8 for a doctor or anything of that nature, 4 for an undergard degree).
If you choose to leave the military you have a degree, experience and it looks awsome on a resume. Its a great way to go, If you stay onboard you get decent pay, full benifits and pension.

Hah, yeah... damn baby-boomers. Always wanting more. No wonder our generation is so fucked up.
For me, I'm on OSAP, which is basically a student loan. Either way, I'll be paying out my nose for the rest of my life. As it stands, I'll be about 50,000 in debt when I'm done University, and that's only if I go for my BA with Honors... who knows, I might stay in it longer to get my Masters or PhD.
So really, it already is for the Elite. Because they were born into a rich family, it means they get to be rich when their older, as opposed to us poor guys who will have more money than our parents (I can only hope to God) because of the interest that goes onto paying back loans.

Unattainable Universities and Colleges are a reality in here -- and it's not a pretty thing.
The monthly fee of private Universities in Chile is about twice or thrice the amount that the average family gains in the same month. State Universities (Not quite state-owned, but receiving a subvention) USED to be the primary place to get superior education, but now they're pretty much just as expensive as the private ones, AND their quality is dropping at top speed. Teachers in state universities are underpaid, and they're just tightly well-paid in privates. The only chance to get to superior education for someone who does not belong to the most wealthy 10% is an scholarship, which is practically only available if you live under a bridge. You're pretty much considered "too wealthy" for an scholarship if you live in a house.
There are still technical education centers, but they're still expensive, and the quality is... well, just there.
What can I say? Simply don't do anything that our country did and you hould do fine.
