I want to know what you people think.

P.S. I will come back in like a week to look at what you people wrote, so don't expect me to reply for a while.

Perhaps, I don't know that much about him. Would you mind telling us what he did? I don't hear a lot about him either.

Which Bush? And I pretty much agree with everything except Washington... I don't really see the benfits of his presidency, but maybe I am misinformed.

Grover Cleveland would be my pick. How many other presidents sucessfully won two terms with a break in between them? Anyone can do back to back, but to throw a space in there, only Grover.

During the election, Polk set these as the objectives of his presidency:
the re-establishment of the independent treasury, the reduction of tariffs, the settlement of the Oregon boundary dispute, and the acquisition of California from Mexico

These are not minor tasks, yet he achieved every one of them. He never sought a second term as he saw nothing left to do. How many presidents in recent history achieved every goal they set out to accomplish?

He ended up starting, then quickly winning the Mexican-American War, which gave the US California, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and parts of Colorado and Wyoming. In other words, it increased the size of the US by 25%. Plus, it ended the fued over Texas.

Most historians don't rank up as a truely great president, and overall, he doesn't get the attention he deserves. He is certainly the greatest between Andrew Jackson and Abraham Lincoln. Too bad most have never even heard of him :(

Just look at the lists. They are completly partisan. I mean, cmon, Regean as one of the best? Please, bro. He was an alright President who resided during an awesome time, thats about it. He didnt bring down the wall, Gorbachev did.

My best. Teddy Roosevelt. Awesome President.
My worst. Grant. As good as a lame duck, imho.

If you were inspired by either George Bush or Bill Clinton, then you were probably inspired by your high school principal.

You're thinking Willian Howard Taft. He was the president who wighed upwards 300 lbs and got stuck in his bathtub once.

How is it possible so many people think Nixon is the greatest President ever? I just dont understand it. Ehh, whatever. Be partisan all you want and ignore the real people who did stuff, like Kennedy, Teddy Roosevelt, Lincoln, Jefferson, and Washington.

Best presidents: FDR (the new deal probably saved america), Clinton (despite the personal issue people tend to judge him by he did his job damn well), and Jefferson (He gets too little credit for pushing this country in the right direction)

Worst presidents: Reagan (the man was incompetent, he only survived because he was lucky), Bush (even Nixon accomplished more good in his career than either Bush has), and Carter (Damned peanut farmer)

We might as well just say what our political affiliation is, most of the lists have just that. I saw many that had Clinton/Reagan as the best/worst, and the other listed under the opposite category.

About FDR, he in no way saved America. He was a conceited president that bankrupted our nation with a useless and actually harmful New Deal and social security system. You get angry at Bush for destroying the funds? Blame FDR as well.

And Clinton. What did he do? All he did was cheat on his wife. He didn't help the economy. Benefits are different than a lack of hurts.

Bankrupted? Where has the US ever bankrupted? The New Deal cut unemployment by more than 50%, and if you look, FDR actually put very little into the national debt. FDR is not to blame for Social Security failing, FDR's Social security was perfect for its time, and needed, the problem is every president since has failed to update it.

And Clinton. What did he do? All he did was cheat on his wife. He didn't help the economy. Benefits are different than a lack of hurts.

Ah, that explains it. You're insane. Let me guess, all that economic growth Clinton had was because of Reagan.
