I think it's alright, but it's not a genre I could enjoy as with the genre rock for example.

I practise it abit on drums because a friend knows a song in ska on guitar so I play the drums to it.

I think it reminds me of "Donkey Kong" or something. =P

LOL.

Apparently you like very feminine Men Wailing and Jumping around on stage.

their look has nothing to do with it, their sound is what matters dumbass

My CT friends have seen them a few times, and are in love with them. I'm seeing them at the DLG benefit show on Oct 29th with loads of other CT Ska bands.

And Matt, I like the chorus of your song. It sounds good!

And I went to Ska Is Dead 3 last night. Whoo, what a night. Me and my friends Patrick, Jess, and Chris were screwing around so much like we always do at shows. We had a circle in the back of the Toasters set where we were doing the robot, techno dances, hardcore dancing, and obviously, skanking.

By the way, if you guys skank/know what skanking is, post here. And if you are into local bands you are my best friend.

I know how to do the skank, and I've probably seen you angrytoaster. My friends and I are really into the ctska scene. All the bands I've seen (cept for Big D and the Aquabats) are local. The ctska scene is huge.

Next to angry toaster, im probably newground's biggest ska fan. I like so much, particularly the traditional ska from jamaca that is imposible to find in clear, playable formats, lucky for me a few bands still play in the old style even today, like hepcat, when 95% of the ska out there is third wave. Two tone shit is awesome too, love the specials and Op-Ivy. But just as the punkers dispersed when the mid 90's hit and ruined their punk scene, and only stand back and bitch, thats the way alot of people feel about 3rd Wave ska, particularly the more mainstreem, pop'ier ska. But really, my phylosophy is if the music has horns its probabaly golden; the only exception to that being the Aquabats. Fuck them, they arent ska, or even tollerable music for that matter.

Do you like Harry Johnson & The All Stars ?

I've only heard 'The Dog' and 'Liquidator', but they are both all kinds of awesome.

Yeah Ska rules, I'm a huge Less than Jake fan. I'm also a drummer in a band that plays mainly punk, but we are working to become ska, if only we could find a decent horn section for our band.

Any band that is "& the allstars" is usualy a dub band, and almoast inherently amazing but easy to confuse with other dub bands by simmilar names. Hence why when all the Ex members of sublime formed "long beach dub allstars" it wasnt nearly as sucsessfull of an act based on the name alone; Nowell or not.

I've only heard 'The Dog' and 'Liquidator', but they are both all kinds of awesome.

you mean "that dog"?

psh. With an answer like that i DOUBT you could list a dozen ska bands that were not previously mentioned in this thread.

Gwen USED to be a good role model for women, until MTV got ahold of her and turned her into our generation's Madonna.
