Yeah i'm pretty sure Luis uses photoshop for his awesomeness BGs and Blurs. I know I prefer photoshop to blur over the new flash 8 things. I feel like I have more control (and i do).

its photoshop cause its not only blur, but also the road has a "skin" thingy, or whatever they are called, that makes it look like a rough ground.

Well, actually tom doesnt liljim does, not my account but the limit is adjusted or something for that particular entry or somethin how it works is anyones guess.
Anywho, in regards to the blur question. that blur is done using the new flash 8 blur system. It works pretty well, althought i've noticed that it sure is very processor heavy so do use sparingly.
The background is photoshop. Theres still some shit flash cant do.

I might give this a shot... so just enviornment plays a part.... I am guessing there are no major time constraints. Should be fun.

I'm going to treat it like a battle to begin with though, whip the whole thing out and comb over it again and again to make it better.

L, maybe it would be nice to make like 2 versions so that the viewer can choose at start of the flash if they wanna see flash 7 or flash 8 version. Seeing as almost half of the people on my list dont have the flashplayer 8 yet i dont think everyone can watch it.
At least there has to be some sort of text at the loader with a link to the flashplayer 8 download, cause i bet alot of people wont even bother to find out why the flash isnt working when nothing appears

Here's what you should do: put a filter on the play button so you have to have flash 8 to go forward, and have a link to the flash 8 player site for those who need it.

yea, i was kinda thinkin that. or just have a discalmer and link to the flash 8 player download on the first frame. im pretty sure u can still see sum stuff if u dont have flash 8 player. cuz i already used a filter on it. :(

Good observations on the flash 8 thing... i'll probably reach out to bean or one of you to get that squared away.
Also I may be extending this beyond the original duedate. It may collide with the cutoff point for the monthly prize thing. I'm not assuming this will be prize worthy but if people are working this hard on it it may as well be in the running for it ya know? Anyways the problem with submitting near the cuttoff is that if we submit it right before the cutoff then not enough people have seen it and even getting frontpage we stand more of a chance to lose. If we submit right after the cuttoff then people are so fixated on sept. entries that we'll get lost come the end of oct. So one way to address this would be to submit the following week... we'd be one full week into october and the voting would more or less be done with and we'd be atleast in the loop again and have a fair chance like any other front page entry.
Any objections or comments id be open to hear them.

Thats just an animatic right? If not it looks.. Kinda fake unless its supossed to be a paper plane. Also the explosoion was choppy, try to jazz it up a little. But it should turn out fine anyway.

It's very simplisic. I'm not sure if you were going for some kind of paper cut out animation style or not, but right now I have to admit it looks kinda ugly and very geometric.
