In my two years of flash animation... I've never had my sound so screwed up.

I did export the movie as a wave file... but that shouldn't effect standard playing. A while ago I uped the frame rate from 12 to 24. I rearanged all the sounds to fit in where they needed to. Most of them are not stream because I need them to either loop on to the next scene or play off on the next scene. The sounds are playing before the actions for the sounds are supposed to.

For instance in say scene 5 i have a thunder sound that instead plays in scene four on from 126

This just is just screwing with all my knowledge of flash I have had and I can't figure it out. Any one know how to fix this?

Obviously no one seems to understand this. Even my streamed sounds are screwed up.

ALL OF THE SOUNDS ARE PLAYING BEFORE THE KEYFRAME THEY ARE PLACED IN LIKE IT IS ONE SOUND RECORDING!!!!

if you don't know what to do don't respond...

Ok, i did some more checking when i put it back down to 12 fps its fine. Its when I up it to 24 that it screws up, but the sounds still start before the keyframe where they are located. Even with event sounds I don't think this is supposed to happen

I'm still using the first version of Flash mx if that helps you understand me

I know that. The problem is that I even tried to set the sounds to stream and the problems persist. If I put it back to 12 fps it works fine, but when I bump it up, the sounds play at the wrong time even tough they are still matched up in the right spot.

i've had a simular problem too... only thing u can do is redo the sounds again.. i know it sucks... but it's your best shot...

Put the sounds a few keyframes after it's supposed to play :/

I know it has to do with the FPS. I've established that, but it has to be something else as well.

Look at my screen shot below. The frame rate changes but the keyframes remain the same. The sounds should play at the keyframe they start in. But instead they start an entire two scenes before they are supposed to.

The sound time length doesn't change. You can see it stretch out. Becuase from a time perspective it has to cover more frames from 12 to 24. I understand the logic, but apparently I don't understand what the program is doing.

Put a movie clip with the sound clip inside it on the keyframe you want the sound to play.

It needs to trancend scenes. It won't do that in a movie clip

Split the sound up and put it in two movie clips on the different scenes then, or start the sound using actionscript.

Splitting the sound causes it to catch. I used that technique in my last video, but I don't have proper sound editing software. I don't want to loose quality.

I have never tried the code option because I don't know that action script. could you post it?

Dude, i have a solution. The same problem happened here. I almost quited flash because of that. The problem is compression of the sound. It has nothing to do with fps. First of all, u should go to movie configuration box. After that go to the stream and event sound compression boxes. i think that the default compression is 16 kbps Mono Mp3. Well, the problem will occur if the compression is lower than 20 kbps(iono if it would b the same in ur comp). I recomend u to compress it to 24 kbps in stream and event types. Make sure to click the box wich says to replace the default compression of all the sounds. If this doesnt work, then try compressing ur movie with a higher kbps rate. I think that depends on the computer u have. I know is a weird problem that occured to me, i almost quit using flash because of that, but one day i got pissed and spend like 3 hours looking for a solution n i did found it.

Hope it works for you ^^ since this kind of problems lower ur moral =/.

House your audio in a movie clip. This fixes any synching problems very effectivly and easily.

I find doing this to be very fool proof.

If this don't work than i have no clue what else to tell you.
