They're great. At making money. Put it this way, whats the current definition of 'pop' music, at present i seem it to be a mixture of r&b and rap, and most people cant seem to get enough of them. Thing us, once you get into music production, you see how simple it is, how they rip other tracks off and how it takes no skill just to speak a poem in rhythm in music.

I'd like to see 50 cent try to actually sing a actual note.

Gangstarr (A bit of an unknown, but trust me he's good and his producer is even better)
Nas (Illmatic really is the best hip hop album ever)
A Tribe Called Quest ( All of their albums are fucking amazing,they are my favorite hip hop group. Their older albums being great too but a bit dated for the new generation of hiphoppers)
Black Eyed Peas are surprisingly good.
De La Soul (Again a bit more oldskool but I can't stop listening to their "Stakes is high" album)
Ghostface Killah ( In my opinion the best from the Wu-Tang Clan, his albums are all excellent)
Kanye West(Not bad at all!)
Mos Def(Easily one of the best MC's on the planet today... his album "Black on Both Sides" is one of the greatest hip hop albums I've ever heard)
Talib Kweli(Easily up there with Mos Def, their album together, "Black Star" was a masterpiece. His single albums are also incredible.)
The Roots(Excellent live Hiphop act, their MC also is very talented)
Outkast(Surprisingly good stuff from the south!)

Rap music in general sucks. Nowadays, all they sing (talk) about is how much money they have, how many "bitches" they have, how cool they are, etc...

If they rapped about real things, it would be more interesting, like Public Enemy, a rap group that deserves respect. There's a 50 cent song that comes on the radio all of the time, and it's the most repetetive shit I've ever heared. The lyrics are something like this, "yo yo yo, just a little bit, gangsta gangsta gangsta, just a little bit, just a little bit". What a load of cheesy cock. These cunts think that they're gangsters? NO! They're just rich kids who saw too many movies. Fuck em all.

Not a 50 Cent fan at all, self-obsessed rap is so boring to listen to. Some quality rap/hip-hop i'm into at the moment is by 'Beans' once part of the 'Anti Pop Consortium'. You can find his stuff on Warp Records, quality independent label.
Public Enemy are great, but only their older stuff is truely special. I can never say what my favourite band or artist is, i just try to listen to as much as possible across a broad spectrum of genres and I tend to find something I like in each and every one.
