i was up at 2 the other day and nuthin was on so i fliped it to the "god" channel just to get pissed and argue with my T.V. well on the god channel they said that there was no seperation of church and state. i jumped up out of my chair and started yelling at the T.V. anyone who even thinks that should be shot. they took the ten commandments out of the front of that courthouse, so there has to be a seperation. but they went on with this for like an hour and a half.

People who don't believe in seperation in church and state are very similar to those who don't believe in the holocaust and those who don't believe in evolution. If there is a single flaw in and argument that is highly documented and backed by fact, then they simply don't believe it. Because they don't want to. Yelling at televangists will get you nowhere.

The constitution was only meant for Christians. You didn't know that? It's true. People of other religion and athiests are not American citizens. It's time for America to get back to the way it was meant to be. Christian only. Deport all non-believers.*

man thats bullshit the founding fathers hated how the goverment in britan was commanded by the church figure heads. so they made it so their were no connections with the church. and you sound so connservitive you would rather be living in medival times where people were afraid of everything and things they didnt understand were explained as brought from "god"
do your history homework.

There is no mention of seperation of church and state in the constitution but the way the courts have played it up to now, its as solid as bedrock in our society.
It does exist, just not in the first amendment.

I thought I heard in a humanities class that there really isn't a 'separation' of church and state. However, there is something about not having a religion supported by the government -- which doesn't mean your government can't be run by zealots.

you my friend are extremely smart and i thank you for adding this and i also add that what happened when the catholic church was a political figure, it got all messed up, so does any political structure. Any idea why? I'll tell you, if you get any structure in power, they try to control it and make it better for others like them including starting wars cough crusades.

The Crusades were started because the Byzantine Emperor asked for help from the Catholic Church. Here, lets make it easy for you.
Blame the Byzantines.
The Crusades were little to nothing about religion. It served a number of purposes, salvation being pretty low for most of the crusaders.
