I've just been looking around various music sites, and I was wondering, is it worth buying THIS even though I already have recording equipment on my computer. If anybody knows about these things can you tell me the pros and cons of spending alot of money on something like that. Cheers.

I don't have one, but one of my band-members has a bigger version.
PROS - Works just like Cubase.
PROS - Easy to mix songs together.
PROS - Mixing and pan editors.
PROS - Works with a PA System.
CONS - Lotta money, Dood.
CONS - A little complicated.
Well, that's all I know, and I'll be getting one of those, soon.

well if you're looking for a relatively cheap bit of hardware that is ideal for guitarists then i would recommend this ...., BOSS1180CD you can get them cheap now and they do everything u could want. U can burn cd's direct and it has a shitload of quality fx on it, plus loads of inputs/outputs, i wanted one for years but couldnt afford it. They have been around for sometime now so they are goin quite cheap on places like e-bay and in local retail shops like Sound Control.

Well, is it better than recording with a computer and cubase? I can afford to buy it right now because I've got a bit of cash for once!

Hmmm. Maybe I'll get one. The one I'm looking at costs £400, has CD burner on it, effects, drum loops, bass shit... the works. Would a drum machine plug into one of these things?

In my opinion, YES IT IS! it's a far more hands on approach and it feels natural, u can actually touch things like most guitarist like to do:) I would always recommend hardware over computers, it allows spontaneity, best thing to do is go to a music store and try one out. no better way to get a feel for something

Yes, these recorders have line-in plugging.
If you're getting a drum machine, look for a BOSS Dr.Rhythm DR670. That's what I have!! It fucking rules.

I think you ought to save some of your money, like a couple-hundred, just incase you need it. I know what you feel like, though. I love having money!
