Yo yo yo homies... I want to know how to import MIDI's into Cubase and make them actually work!!! I can import the file, but making it play with the rest of the songs is something I don't know how to do. It's probably something simple. I tried a MIDI to WAV converter, but they always fuck up the MIDI and make the timing go wrong. What do I do?

I've had the same problem, i think you'll have to plug in some vsti's to make them play because some systems dosnt support GM(general midi)
I HAS MYSPACES

What version of cubase... theres like... hundreds.
File>import>midi file
Do you want to merge the MIDI file into the current arrangement?
[yes]
done, assuming you're refering to cubasis vst
as for sx3, you probably would have to cut/paste

Gore, some of my songs have had midi music in it. What I do, is play the midi or file, do the line in procedure, and instead of plugging the other end into and amp or machine, etc - plug the end into the headphone socket. Then whatever normally plays to the headphones, will be recording on Cubase. Hissing will probably occur, it did in my songs, but it's not that much of a problem.
I hope this helped.

haha. I already knew that, but when I import them, they don't record with the rest of the stuff
FlameMesial, that's pretty cool. When I first started recording, I had my guitar port set up differently, and MIDI files worked when I had it the old way. I'll try that. Cheers.

I fuckin hate recording into a computer and using computers in general to make music, has there ever been a more stale, stifling medium, whatever happened to good old analog 4 trk recording, simple and effective. I'm a bit of a luddite tho, i cant figure out this computer music bollox, all sems to lack spontaneity to me.

I know what you mean. I'd prefer to use more hardware than using my laptop. I've got an amp in my room that cost £500.50 and it's just gathering dust up there, because I use my computer instead.
On a side note, Monkeybullman, I only just noticed that you are from England too. "Well fuckin good innit meyt!"

Rahhhh! don't waste that amp! nothing better than hammering out some badass riffs with full dist on an amp, Turn it up to 11:) I used to live with a lad who loved any music that was stupidly heavy! me an him used to jam our asses of playing sick ass heavy riffs all night, tho i could never come up with heavy riffs, just not well versed in the making of metal style trx, i suck. I do electro alright and acoustic, i'm just not angry enuff for metal, well unless i'm wankered:D

Too weak for metal, eh?
Well, everytime I'm pissed off, whether it's in school or home, I go into my garage and play Cradle Of Filth's 'An Enemy Led The Tempest', because when I'm calmer I can't normally play that (it fuckin rips the hell outta ya).
So rage, fury, and aggro will get you warmed up nicely.
If you get a chance to hear 'An Enemy Led The Tempest', listen to it. Aside from the vocals, it's fuckin brilliant.

By the way I meant playing the song ON DRUMS. Not guitar, or bass or anything else. I play the song on Drums.
