First off, my pc is broke. So im writing from somewhere else. Second, last wednesday, i posted a song of mine on ng. This song only had 5's and no downrates till now. I was very proud of the song because i never managed to make the drums so good. Yesterday, i was checking if it was still 5, i was glad that it was. Today i checked again, but it wasnt in the top 5, and still it had a score of 5.00/5.00. This pissed me off, and id be glad if id get an explenation for this..

well i have 3 songs in the top 5 this week for which i can only say soz mate, you really did deserve to be in there as well considering the score, but have faith that it'll be in there next week cos i submitted those 3 trx over a week ago and they still got in even though they have been downrated more than once.

First off, just because it stays 5 dosnt mean that loads of people have voted. One person could have voted, Two people, but theres no way of telling how many. Secondly, theres little chance of being downrated once off the front page, but it does happen eventualy. Thirdly, votes truely mean nothing in the audio portal, and the top 5 is normaly inhabited by people who vote down every other track to keep at the top.

i dont trust the top 5 anymore. I have had so many songs of mine with 6 reviews, a score of like 4.5 or higher, and at least 30 dls, get replaced in the top 5 by songs that have two reviews ascore of 3 and one review. I think someone has a vendetta against me. Whirlguy....you dont know my pain
just you wait

The top five wasn't meant to be trusted in the first place.
By the start of the week, everyone knows they've got a chance to be in the top five, so they get their own songs up there, with fives, so the list looks like this.
1. 5.00 "Joe" with "Billy's nightmare"
2. 5.00 "Joe6" with "Paradox THIS SONG RAWKS"
3. 5.00 "RyeGuyHead" with "Something".
But who's number one?
It's not Rye. It's Joe. Joe is going to get top five. It's the most absolute recent and top ranking.

The reason it didn't get in the top 5 is simple. I've had songs scoring higher than the top 5, but they didn't get in because they were not uploaded to newgrounds that week. There were probably about 20 other songs in different genres at that time, with a score of 5 which would have been selected randomly... That's how I think it works anyway.

Yeah, stupid that you don't know how you can get into the weekly Top 5 and see how many, or what kind of people voted on your tracks.

Tracks which are voted around 3.2 to 4.9 are usually better than those voted 5. Anything with an irregular decimal place normally suggests its been voted for more than other tracks, and probably in a much more fair way.
If music was voted for properly, it would be impossible to keep a score of 5.0, as there would be a handfull of people who would vote 3's and 4's, if the track really was that good.

You'd be suprised, as the date comes along, most tracks on the charts that reach a vote of five aren't usually screwed with until half a day later.
