WTF HAPPENED TO THE NG PORTAL ?

Holy shit. Ever since Wade implemented that new voting feature that keeps track of 'Blam' and 'Protection' points, it seems as if almost EVERY movie submitted, regardless of how shitty it is, has gotten rated the 'decent green' color. Don't get me wrong, there were still some movies that have turned 'red' before being Blammed, but only because everyone who had voted on it had pretty much agreed that it probably was a shitty movie to begin with.

Even bad movies are getting posted with 'excellent blue' color.

WTF is going on? Is everyone that desperate to gather all of these Blam/Protection points?

Not only that, but now you can choose whether or not you want to be 'Light' 'Dark' or 'Neutral'?

I think that being given the ability to choose your alignment really sucks.

Wade always seemed to be stating/stressing things like "Some people intentionally give movies bad votes or ratings just so they can achieve the 'Dark' status...." or something to that effect, pretty much saying summing up the moral of 'voting fairly' instead of 'voting to get a certain alignment'.

It would seem that Wade just contradicted his own views and opinions by implementing this new Blam/Protection point system, as you can already see it's effects on the NG Portal.

So now, instead of 'voting to get a certain alignment' like 'Dark', people are voting to get Blam/Protection points.

If you ask me, the NG Portal is even WORSE off NOW than it was previously.

Does anyone else feel the same way as I do?

I think it was a good idea but, i think you are also right not only are the movies getting blammed faster but people are just racking up the blam/protection points, its just another goal for people to strive for unwittingly joining th emeaniless existance of life and following the pointless views of everyone else, i mean if you going to vote actually watch the movie and vote fairly damnit!

I agree with you about 'people following the views of everyone else'. Everybody is entitled to their own opinions, but when something is being forced upon us without much of our say in it, doesn't that kind of seem unfit?

I'm sure that there will be people flaming my post, saying crap like "if you don't like the changes, leave!" or "NG is free so stop complaining!"..... I've heard all that before, so try to come up with a better argument.

Besides, anyone that says comments like that, totally avoided my questions. Why? Because they probably had nothing better to say.

As for your take on the 'meaningless existence of life', I think we'll only be able to truly answer that question once we've died. It's a shame really..... just like the old saying: "Dead men tell no tales"

Anyway, i know i used to just vote 0 on 5 random movies to get my daily xp and get a dark aura cause i liked the red better than the blue, now i actually watch the movies.

Yeah that's kind of true. Instead of fixing things which really don't need fixed, maybe they should take the time to fix the things which DO need some fixing. The voting system was fine before, but yeah it had some flaws (like people sitting around waiting to get blams and voting one sided to get a new aura). Now though, people still go to those extremes, and yes, horribly crappy movies get over the top, undeserving scores. Wade can't possibly not notice how every fucking movie on the portal has a colored box around it, which is supposed to represent good quality. Yeah, not instead of having a crappy movie blammed, it gets a green highlight, and still sits there. Explain that Wade.

I am tired of reading this same "complaint". Check out the blamed movies compaired to movies submitted. The bad movies are being deleated very quickly. I do agree that some movies have gotten much higher scores then they deserve but those movies are pretty high quality. Although this system isnt perfect i think it is better then the old one.

maybe protection points should be gotten rid of, they are really just so ppl don't only vote bad on movies, but some ppl do anyway, like hitler

The flaw is that people dont realize that you dont have to vote 5 to get a protection point. If you give it higher than a 1 you get a protection point. Everyone just votes 5 now because they want a protection point and if you vote higher it is more likely to stay in. So anytime people see a decent movie it gets a 5.

Yes the blammed movies for yesterday was like 600 something, as opposed to around 80 submitted. OBVIOUSLY the movies getting blammed arent JUST the new crappy movies submitted.

People are going back in the archives and just blamming the shit out of old movies, just to rack up points.

As soon as all these people run out of old movies to blam, theyre gonna have nothing to do besides vote 5 on everything in existance, the only time they vote 0 is if they think that movie has a high chance of being blammed, otherwise they vote 5.

I dont think that the new system is that bad. I have seen more people on newgrounds in the past week then i have in the past month. Obviously more people like the changes to the site then dislike them. Whatever brings people to the site i think is a good change.
