Is anime real animation?

I cant be the only animator here that realises that anime is a bunch of panning and looping lipsync, and that all the stories are exactly the same, the reason im posting is because im sick of all these anime based submissions with the same story about demons and pre teens realising they have great power or some crap, this art form has corrupted more kids than rap music, i just hope when all the 13-16 year olds on this site grow up they realise hopw pointless and silly anime is and they read a book or watch a good movie, and find out what real story writing is about.

Anime is a rediculously complex style of animation. Master artists who make big bucks draw the frames at 1 second intervals, and then losers who want to be masters fill in the next 19 frames for 5 bucks an hour.

Lets see... You should know a thing or two about cliches and over used storylines... (Espescially after watching youre Flashes). A lot of work goes into anime, and it takes a lot of skill to draw like that. I admit, too many people are becoming Wapanese otakus, but you should not critizize anime.

Okay i should not have generalised the way i did there are good forms of anime, but turn your tvs right now fox got rid of their traditional animation dept. to put crap like one piece on, and new anime is not done frame by frame it's made up of lots of digital pans, now and of course theres now american anime, which is a cheap imitation of a horrible thing, i just wish new artists would not based their submissions on these things as for my submissions, i havent made anything im too proud of yet im still in school and im still learning flash and my current project is gonna be 24 frames per second drawn frame by frame. Anyway rap really is worse your right about that.

Cowboy Bebop is a nicely animated anime with no loops or anything. And it even has some age to it.

Don't think for one second frame count = quality. 3 frames of pure gold beats 24 frames of garbage any day of the week. Take it from someone who's actually worked in the animation industry, there's plenty of domestically produced crap out there, anime does not hold the exclusive rights to it. There's also tons of really good anime that we NEVER see over here, you can't possibly judge it based on the heavily dubbed and edited crap that fox and cartoon network force feed us. One Piece is about the worst offender. All those digital pans and zooms you hate? Those are all added by WESTERN editors to hide things like blood and tits from the poor sensitive eyes of innocent little western children.

You mean dubbed DBZ, the original DBZ content hardly had any loops in it and was far more violent.

The dubbed and seriously edited DBZ you have seen is completely different from the DBZ released from Japan.

one piece isn't crap, the edited version is. if you watched the original, you'd know that it's far better. also, there's none of that horrible voice acting, because the voices are japanese in the original (well, maybe the voice acting is horrible, but i wouldn't know because i don't speak japanese).

watch the following animations and you'll see that anime isn't all that bad: millenium actress, perfect blue, cowboy bebop, x, spirited away, princess mononoke, akira, naruto (the original), hunter x hunter, lupin the third, etc. also, you should know that a lot of anime series are based on mangas, so you should read those too.

It depends on what series of anime you are talking about. Some are called animation when they are indeed, nothing more than repeated lipsyncing. But then there are some series that actually involve animation.

But it's more about presenting what you're paid for that matters. For example (and I realize this isn't anime), Aqua Team Hunger Force is a comical show with little real animation, but it brings some laughs.

Anime has its own variety, sometimes with high animation, low animation but high expressionism (sweat drops, odd eye reactions, mouths overlapping chins, etc.), scenes with 3D graphics, and a mixture of each set.

How accurate is Hiro Shitaku? That might just cover the kinds with less animation but still with the hawtness.

Crappy or not, it's not real and it moves which makes it animation. For some reason or another, in recent years anime has become widely popular with young children who grown into teens who still look back on things like the first seasons of Dragonball and Pokemon and remember the good ol days, even if the good ol days were cartoons like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The REAL Ghostbusters, Spiderman and Scooby-Doo. Wow do I ever remember the contiuous backgrounds where they'd be running down a hallway and you'd see like the same water cooler atleast 6 times.
