popups on user click

i want to make about 4 popups on this one page but as the introduction of popup blockers its harder and harder to do.
one popup that works in a user clicked one. like on the portal view page 'click to view this movie' opens up a popup.
so what i want to know is how to make a popup on user click but it also takes you to another page.

your on the index.html and i want 4 popups on hardcore.html so when the user clicks the button on index.html to go to the hardcore i want it to take them there but also open a popup, this would therefor get around the popup blocker.
can this be done?

why so many popups? they are annoying and any important data in them is likely to be lost, because people normaly close them as fast as they open, 4 at once seems a little crazy...

Internet Explorer (which is still the dominant browser) blocks those pop-ups too. Most people have the security setting set so high that new window links will even be blocked.
