Of course the real ball-ache is that now we've updated, I've seen that I lost sixteen (16) Flash Reviews in the wash. I know I gained 3 Audio, but it doesn't really compensate :(

Thanks Auz, I noticed on my page that games and flash movies are separate which I found rather odd and just wondered how it was going to work to pull the two of them without resulting in massive brain injury adding the two numbers.

Yeah, I was thinking about that too. Do we keep games and movie reviews combined in this thread? I think this would be the best soultion, or else we'd have four stat threads that deal with reviews and four stat threads that deal with the responses (art, audio, games, movies).

I think the best soultion would be to show games and movie reviews as seperated stats on this list and sort it by combined reviews.

Also, I should use this emoticon more often...

Yes, it's only 5 stars, but it's possible to give out "half stars", so effectivly it's still a 0 to 10 rating. I guess they made that change so it is consistent with the voting score, which now is also displayed as stars (which I really don't like).

I'm not the biggest fan of fraction scores between 0 and 5 but it is probably more accurate and fair.

This is exactly what I am thinking of.

I will probably add two colums to the list, one with game reviews and one with movie reviews, but the rank will still be determined by the total reviews (so that is game reviews + movie reviews).

This seems like the best way to go to me. I think making two seperate lists will give a lot of hassle and extra work.

What about Audio & Art reviews as well,when the redesign came out they give off 4 seperate counts of Games/Movies/Audio/Art so it seems to me all 4 are on equal ground rather than before we mostly just acknowleged Flash (games & movies) reviews so I think both audio & art have come far enough to where they count just as much as the movies & games do here on NG.

So why not add all 4 review counts here and have 4 columns to the list of each subject, I know it sounds like a lot of work and mad praise would go to the one doing if it were to happen but this is all just speculation anyways and just a thought.

I could indeed include all 4 of them. It shouldn't be that much more work than including two. The stat pulling and processing might take a little longer though.

Being able to sort the list for the seperate stats would be nice, although the ranks wouldn't mean much since someone who wrote 800 audio reviews wouldn't appear on this list but would appear high up on the audio reviewers list for example.

Oh how I have fallen. Seems Coop has once again passed me with his steady pace of reviews. Meanwhile i've slowly been losing reviews and haven't had much time to actually sit down and go through much content. Also never realized how large the discrepancy between movie reviews and game reviews I had until the redesign. Apparently I like to review almost every movie I watch but only review a select few games I play.

Okay, regarding Auz potentially looking into the new system for a total reviews list, I'd be happy to focus my efforts on the Total Responses, should no-one wish to take the reigns on that beauty from me.

Byteslinger has provided me with a new ini file, so the stat pulling program is working again (many thanks to her). Or at least, I did a little test run and everything seemed to work fine, so if all goes well I should be able to post another update this weekend.

I'll try making an update with total reviews, game reviews, movie reviews, art reviews and audio reviews listed, but I can't promise that that'll be the new standard format. I just gotta see how much extra work it'll be first. The least I can promise though is that art and audio reviews will now be added to the totals.

I'm looking forward to the total review listings and felt this has been long overdue. If the new total reviews listing works out, I suppose I'll be giving you even more users than ever.

Yeah, I'll also need to keep track of audio reviewers and art reviewers from now on. I'm a little curious myself as to how the list will change on the first update. I don't expect massive shifts, but there might be some new users coming in and some gaining a lot of spots.

I'll probably try the update today by the way as I'll have to go to work tomorrow.

I'll say it again: Audio and Art Reviews are now included on this list and added to your Total Reviews. The ranks are determined by Total Reviews.

Some further notes:
1) I've decided not to mention any rank changes. I wanted to at first, but it gave too much hassle and it's easy for you guys to figure it out anyway.
2) I'm not going to mention any milestones and top gainers and such on this update.
3) Some might have ? as their gain. These are people I didn't have on my tracking list yet and as such I don't know what their gains are.
4) Obviously, on this update, your audio and art reviews have been added to your gain.
5) Some users might have their audio and art reviews flipped around. This will be fixed on the next update.
6) The order of the different stats is the same as the order in the top navigation bar (games, movies, audio, art)
7) The list might be full of mistakes
8) There might still be some top 100 users flying "under the radar". Typically people who have a few hundred reviews in every category, but not enough to join any of the lists.

Yeah, I've stated in one of the notes that the numbers might be switched. Actually, the mix up is only for some of the new users as I had plugged in their stats manually, but accidentally switched the order. This is because on your profile the order is games, movies, art, audio for some reason and I plugged them in like that.

On the next update this will be fixed automatically though and it won't mess up any gains or anything. So I didn't really feel like fixing it.

The only question that remains now is: Do we still need the seperate audio and art reviewers list?

I would find it convenient to spot new users for this list, but the decision is up to you and reverend. Since reverend hasn't updated in a long time I don't think he'll want to continue the Art Reviewers List, but I can imagine some people might still like to see the Audio Reviewers List updated every now and again.

By the way, in case you're wondering, outside of all the new users on the list you made the biggest leap upwards.

Right, this gives me a chance to see what's what and who is where. Now I can start climbing the rankings and slowly see if I can pursue Wegra. Fortunately, my Audio pace is greater than Wegra's, so I'll be able to try and keep him honest. I wonder how things will pan out with SCTE3 as well over the year...
