3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsHey! since the last time I came I wasn't so good with flash. Welll... now I have a new mission. I want to do a sort of battle scene in Flash. Really, all I need help with is how it would get played out. IN other words, someone who could help me design a really cool battle that wouldn't be too complicated to do.
So, can anyone help me?
Fight choreography is so awesome, but you're sorta short on details. A girl and a beast. What age is the girl? Can she do magic and stuff or is she more of a ninja? Does she carry a weapon or just improvise with her surroundings? Is the beast more like a giant boar or a four-armed man with fangs? Does it think like a human or just act on instinct? Can it breath fire? What started this battle? Where are they? What kind of a mess have the Duke boys got themselves into this time? I'm not wearing pants? See what I mean? There's a lot that needs to be known to make sure things don't mess up.
I could write a fight scene in which the girl finishes the beast with a laser cannon, but if you're setting this in medieval times that would be a horrible mess up. So can you tell us a bit more of what you wanted this battle to be about?
Right... youre right! Sorry about that.
The girl is dressed in a skirt, shes about 15. IT's actually pretty modern with a fantasy/sci fi twist, think... Iuno, one of those crazy animes where the character lives in real time(ie 2005 Japan) and monsters just come from who knows where (in this fight the monster comes from a mad scientist)
The girl fights with two swords, and does a magic spell fire spell with her hand. The beast is a rather large 'devilpup' which is maybe something reselmbing a doberman on speed. They are in the middle of a street, with alot of onlookers around.(they could just be little blobs)
The girl's also more ninja, but she uses a bit of fire magic. The average fire ball casting spell. The human girl is a good guy, and the devilpup is bad. Thats why the fight has started. The beast is pretty intelligent, and only uses it's fangs and claws to fight.
I think that's all thats needed, right?
well show us some drawings of the girl and the beast. you have to make sure your artwork looks alright otherwise the fightscene will be horrible no matter how well you planned it out. if you have trouble with consistant characters at different angles, then just keep practicing. are you using a mouse or a tablet? if your using a mouse than you will have to be extra careful. a wireless mouse would help.
so post a screenshot or something.

Honestly I didnt read the other posts (they look too long). Anyways, since your not as good with flash, have you thought about practicing? I mean looking at the blammable crap that comes into to the portal everyday (the sincerly made ones) they're trying. Everytime they submit, their skills improve slightly until they are approved and live amongst the living flash.
Thats only half of what I'm trying to say. Every flasher wants to be acknowledged but with help, what are you going to do? If youre bad at flash then basically are you not going to animate as well with a partner? Are you just telling him/her your idea? If you think your skills are not as improved, then would you think that it'll ruin your partners work if you added something in? I'm just saying that if you're not contributing anything other than an idea, it just seems more of your partners work not yours thus having the feeling that you didnt accomplish anything nor learned anything.
(This is just my opinion, I'm not going to tell you what to do.)
well, i agree with the last poster. i suggest practicing at flash before attempting anything so seemingly complicated as this, but what the hell. ill help coriograph a small fight scene, if you wish.
*a man is walking home from work with a coffee cup in his hand, he takes a sip of it as he walks down a sidewalk. as he is walking, a small throwing knife cuts spins through his coffee cup, making a clean cut in half, spilling the coffee all over the man.*
*pan to the beast as he smashes a fist at the girl, she jumps over it and pushes it from its stall point in the air into the ground, leaving it stuck there. she then unsheathes a sword and cuts violently at its neck while the beast struggles to pull its arm out of the ground. it attemptsto dodge, making the regularly fatal slashes to the neck into minor cuts. just as the beast pulls its arm out of the ground, the girl unsheathes her other sword and uses the two to cut off its arm. the beast goes into a terribles rage and greabs a car and stuffs it into the bloody hole where its arm used to be, to help stop the bleeding. the girl jumps off of him and shoots fire at him from the air, making small fires on his head. to the girl's surprise, the beast ignores the fire on its skull and smacks her out of the air and into the crowd, knocking down innocent bystanders, and pounding the girl into an unconscious state.*
*the crowd pauses and murmurs lightly, then slowly moves in, picking up whatever rubble they find as a weapon against the gargantuan. the beast swings his arm out and blasts away the oncoming crowd. one man is hit against a brick wall, slashing open a wound in his back and banging his head against the wall. he looks into his pocket and pulls out a handgun*
*cut to first person view of the man*
*the scr
*he pulls outthe gun, and aims it at the beast*
man: that was my car, you mother fucker.
*the man shoots the gun at the gasoline tank of the crushed car stuffed in the titan's arm socket, making the beast explode*
so, how was that? if you use this, credit me.

No no no, I mean, I can easily ANIMATE it, but i can't come up with the poses in my mind. So I dont suck suck at flash. And I'm not a bad artist either, uts just the poses I can't do, if that makes sense. And... I don't have a partner, I really just wanted someone to help me with the poses for a fight scene. Apparently I don't make much sense...

I actually have no problem with angles, especially when I do practice, which is all I do. I'm an artist, not an animator... you know? Well ,heres the Screens/ examples of the girl and beast.

Mind you, they were done pretty darn early/late, but are atleast decent enough to give some sort of image of what the girl and beast look like. I use a tablet. Wacom.

that was pretty nice. :P And yes, a fight scene would seem rather complicated, but not if you have the art, and the poses to put it together. A beginner could animate a battle scene, it isn't really that hard... (yet here I am askin for help)
So what are you trying to say?
You have the characters and you have an idea, but can't get them to play out properly?
Might I suggest storyboarding? Just some quick sketches of the scenes you want to do, and adjust them as you see fit to stear them towards the dramatic effect you're looking for.
