55,000 B/P.

Sorry for my lack of posting recently, I'm just a little bit down and depressed after recent events. Rest assured, I'll get back into the swing of things soon.

*relieving.
Actually, that's the way I wanted to spell the word at first. But somehow, it looked more "wrong". I should just trust my instincts more.
As the Beast (an opponent on a quiz show) says - "Go with your gut."

Nice idiom.

A whole bottle isn't all as bad as it sounds. Real alcoholics tend to start in the morning when they get up and not stop. A whole bottle wouldn't last until lunch with them.
There are no "real" alcoholics, since there are no "not real" alcoholics. You can be an alcoholic if you drink one bottle of wine each day. You can be an alcoholic if you don't drink anything, except for some weekends, where you drink huge amounts of alcohol... you can also be an alcoholic, if you drink only one glass of wine as a stress reliever each day... or you just drink the wine, because you want it, not because you NEED it.
I stand corrected.

Well, my grandfather used to be an alcoholic (he died a long time ago. If the alcohol had something to do with it, I don't know. But it is possible), so it's a very personal matter... and that's why I know quite a lot about alcoholics.

Because it applies to everyone.

I've had something called Firebomb or Firebird. Well, whatever it was. I was drunk. But yeah, you might want to start listing off bad drinks that are in the UK.
It's more easy to simply list the good drinks. :P

Cider, for example.
Can we start with Guinness? I know it's not cider but it's still a good start.

I've never tried it, so I can't say anything about it. But lots of people I know say that Guinness isn't really that great. But Kilkenny is nice! I know, it's Irish and not British... but who the hell cares.

I've never been a huge Guinness fan, though I did recently try their new Black Lager which I enjoyed thoroughly. Have any of you guys every tried your hand at homebrewing? I bought a starter kit about a year or so ago and have done a few batches since. It's a must-try if you're feeling adventurous and love beer. :P

You don't expect this country to have sunny weather. Wait, if I'm saying that, then why is the sun glaring right at me?

Craig Ferguson (that guy from The Late Late Show on CBS) has told some stories about his alcoholism, for example when Brittney Spears went into rehab. Very interesting.
But drinking yourself to death... hm, there are a lot quicker and less painful ways to end your own life. When I was doing my civillian service, I saw a guy who was in his mid 30's... he looked like he was 70! I asked one of the nurses what was up with this guy and she said: "He drank his whole life away."
He died a few days later.

I've seen my fair share of alcoholism in my family, as well. My grandmother did manage to drink herself to death and my uncle has been in and out of jail and without a driver's license for most of his adult life due to the stupid crap he did while drinking. It's taught me a hardy respect for moderation, that's for sure. :\

On the topic of exp. levels, I'd imagine it must be slightly bittersweet, reaching level 60. You know, seeings how you'll never level up again. (Unless more levels are added at some point down the road, that is.) Hopefully there wont be, or I'll be fucking 90 before I finally reach the end with all my missed deposits. lmao

Alice Cooper did a couple of bottles of Jack Daniels a day, in the 1970s - he looks that old now, because of it. But the good thing from his point of view is that now his age (He'll be 65 in a few months) is catching up his looks. Not a drop since 1978.

My biggest milestone to date. (Duh) :P

I saw Alice Cooper with Heaven and Hell (freaking awesome) a few years back and was amazed at how quick and graceful he still is for his age -he sure puts on a hell of a show.

This is true, but it's just so much easier to reach Supreme Commander. You might reach SC in a couple years (or less -though that's no longer possible these days) but leveling up in exp. is something that's ALWAYS there. I would imagine that it would be slightly sad to finally reach the final level and be done leveling on NG for good in both exp. and b/p. (Hell knows I wish there were a few more b/p ranks to strive for. Or at least VP increases, which is something I remember discussing with you a few years back.) :P

Should that be a katana / wakisashi combination? I mean it's difficult to wield one katana in one hand, without wielding an identical on in the other...

Maybe, maybe.

You meant Metal-Therapy right? I'm close to 33,000. However I do look forward to the day I hit 37,000 B/P. :)

I didn't even notice that. :x Everyone's messing up my achievements lately!

I'm expecting a double-congrats from you too, Coop. :P

I saw Alice Cooper with Heaven and Hell (freaking awesome) a few years back and was amazed at how quick and graceful he still is for his age -he sure puts on a hell of a show.

The greatest showman on Earth :)

I'm getting there, but look at it like this - I've passed 30,000 B/P and I'm still going.

Well, I vote for experience on a daily basis. I also gun for B/P on a daily basis, so they fulfil one another.

I did indeed. Must have had a brain fart in my old age.

I don't even know what brought me back here, haha.
I've got at least 3 years of inactivity under my belt now... :'( Back when I was a noob I was dead set on getting Supreme Commander and keeping a perfect deposit rating -at least I was able to achieve one of those things.

I guess I'm close to 4 years of inactivity, then. I'm just glad I already got to Supreme Commander while the portal was still more active than it is now.

Let's hope he keeps it that way. That's another thing Craig Ferguson talked about: He doesn't have a drinking problem, but a thinking problem. Sometimes he sees adverts for Guinness or other alcoholic stuff and he find himself thinking about how he should go out and have a drink... until he realizes: Wait now. I can NOT do that!

33334 Experience points. For some reason I really like the number. It feels like I'm 1/3rd of the way towards a goal I really shouldn't pursue.

Keep it, I don't want snow, to prevent me from getting to work until at least next year!

I've not heard of Alice thinking like that, but I suppose it is probably the same.

Well, that sucks almost as much as Haggard's predicament.

DVDs and a wallet? That's what I'm getting my parents, as that's what they want / need.

If you won't pursue it, then I will!

Not sure I'll get there, but oh well...

Wish me luck, I'm off to work in 10-15 minutes and I still need to get ready...
