You know, I haven't even picked that up but I feel Maiden have done enough live releases already. Ever since the 1999 reunion, they've released one live album for each studio album they make. Brave New World has Rock in Rio, Dance of Death has Death on the Road, A Matter of Life and Death has Flight 666 (well, there IS a live CD album along with the documentary) and The Final Frontier has En Vivo.

Nah, Flight 666 was the Somewhere Back in Time tour, which contains no tracks from Life and Death

See? 7-9-2 was my blams progression for the past few days. I'm not just missing Blams to prove a point here >:(

I'm well aware of the transformation cards. They are damn weird since they break the whole concept of a playing card.
That's why you get an opaque backed set of deck protectors - that way, people can't see what is in your hand.
Well, you NEVER get transparent sleeves anyway, especially not with those transformation cards.

I've got transparent sleeves - I don't have any of those cards, either.

They'll add more of them.
Sweet. Get me on the payroll!
I'll be on the waiting line as well. :P

Then I'm buggered - you're the golden boy of Newgrounds and I won't beat you to employment with NG.com inc any more than I could have beaten you to a Tank award :P

Heh, shouldn't you keep it to 60? I can hardly see this game getting close to decking out.
I've got some decks that are over 120 cards - less chance of me getting what I want, but also less chance of being milled to death. Jace Belerin has a lot to answer for >:(
I really can't see how a 120 card deck will work out.

When 2 players you play against have cards that cause a player of their choice to put the top 4 cards of their library into their graveyard, you pack a few more. One of them does it for 20 cards, so I took it out of play, by adding a lot more low powered stuff in there.

True. Too many cards kill any deck instantly because you never get what you need during a game. I know it's really hard for beginners (or sometimes novices as well) to trim down a deck. If you found a combination of cards you like you of course want to use it in a deck. It's REALLY hard to trim down a deck. It might help if you try building a deck around a single combination of cards and see how that works out.

Play against a Jace themed deck and see how you get on with just 60 cards, then.

I can answer that. It looks awesome. There's nothing better than a bout of SNES Rock'N'Roll Racing on it. I quite often plug in my old units to my plasma, the only thing that wont work on it is shooting games though, you need a cathode ray tube TV for them too work. Which is a pity because I love playing Sega Saturn - Virtua Cop and Virtua Cop 2, because they would look amazing on the plasma, but alas they just wont work. Thankfully I kept an old Panasonic 100cm to play them on.

Yeah, but the SNES as 16bit, the NES only 8bit. :P
I've heard the upscaling really destroys the picture. Maybe I try it out next week.
What I can say is, that a PS3 connected to a CRT TV via component cable looks somewhat good. A PS3 connected to a Plasma via component cable looks pretty good. But a PS3 connected to a Plasma via HDMI cable... WOW! It's a difference like day and night!

After trying out The Simpsons Arcade on PS3, it didn't look too bad. Mega Man X on the Wii on the other hand, the pixels give me a headache from time to time but at least it isn't all blurry like GameCube games are.

I would expect the old games re-released on the Wii should look better. Maybe I should do some testing next week... ^^

Who else does that?
You. Or why else do you hide in human disguise if you walk through the streets?
Haven't I always said only my partner will see it in full action?

And this is why it's best to focus on one colour rather than trying out multiple. The mana cards are very similar to the Pokemon card game and when I played that and attempted multiple energy cards, it made the deck inconsistent. I know for a fact that with Magic there are cards out there that make it easier to play multicolour decks.

Multi colour decks can be fun to play. And you won't run into problems with creatures that have protection from a single colour. I know when I first started playing my friends all played single black decks. I got so fed up with it that I created a single white deck with lots of stuff that had protection from black, haha.
Also, there are some very nice multicolour cards out there. I don't know if "double lands" are still in use. Those give mana of two colours (for example either red mana or black mana), you can decide which one when you tap them.

Sorry, I stopped playing after the "Tempest" block, I never had to deal with a Planeswalker. :P
How about using cards that lets you destroy a permanent? ^^
But I had a deck that followed a similar theme once: Let the opponent draw cards until his library is empty... or until he was crushed to death by the Black Vise.
It was awfully slow, but very fun to play. Especially since I didn't had any creatures at all in this deck.
My fastest deck was the one with two Recycles. I could play the entire library in one single turn if everything went right.

Also: Do you have "Duels of the Planeswalkers" for the PS3? If so, we could play online.

That makes a lot of sense. I guess it would also make a difference what size plasma your using. I'm using a 60" Panasonic 3DHD Plasma TV and the SNES looks great through it. And that's only with AV cables. I use them off my Gamecube/64 since they are all the same as each other. Don't have my NES handy so I'm not sure if you can use GC/64 cables on the NES. But I would image if your using a smaller plasma or LCD TV, up to say 30", then it wouldn't make too much difference. If you do try it out, let me know how you get on, I may have to break the NES out for a session or two.

It's nowhere near as hard to get blams as people are making it out to be. I'm still averaging 50+ a week (and I know that there are others that are around the same mark) without trying too hard. And we only have to change the voting habits of a few more people and that number will rise drastically. Seriously if 5-10 more people vote 0-1 on shitty submissions instead of 2-5 then the submission wont meet the required passing judgement score and bingo, that's one less save the savewhores will get and the more people that realize that the better things will become. Then when the savewhores finally realize they are the ones fighting a losing battle they will start blamming for points again, instead of saving for points and what do you know, things return to the way they should be. So come on people, be one of those 5-10 voters that can make a difference to the portal. Clean it up with your important vote. Think of it like this. Soon enough, you will be getting blam points and the savewhores will be getting no points. Whose laughing at who then?

Lots of blue instants can counter spells.

I had three "Force of Will" back in the days. It lets you discard a card and pay a life instead of paying the mana costs. Very nice if you opponent thinks you are out of mana, but then you still can counter his spells.

Seeing the price of the card now, I just wish I had sold my most valuable cards on eBay instead my complete collection of magic cards to a friend for about 200 bucks. :/

But I had a deck that followed a similar theme once: Let the opponent draw cards until his library is empty... or until he was crushed to death by the Black Vise.
I don't know that card...

It deals damage to your opponent for every card above 4 he has in his hand during the upkeep phase (so, 5 cards mean 1 damage point, 6 cards 2 damage points and so on). I also used a card that skipped the discard phase for both players (Anvil of Bogardan). So the opponent often had much more than 7 cards in his hand, meaning lots of damage from the Vise.

Also: Do you have "Duels of the Planeswalkers" for the PS3? If so, we could play online.
I tried it, never really got on with it. I never got to downloading it.

Well, the biggest downside is that you can't build your own decks. So it might not be worth it after all.

This is probably a little out of place here , but knowing how much you guys love your music, because your always putting, 'listening too'. So I thought you guys for sure would appreciate this. This is from the 1st season, 1st episode of 'THE VOICE' Australia and this girl, quite frankly is mind blowing. Probably the best voice I have EVER heard. There's not much else to say, but sit back, and listen to the reincarnation of Janis Joplin. Let me know what you think.

Apparently that link or another one I found for the clip is blocked to American users of youtube, so if you are interested in hearing this phenomenal voice, you could try searching on youtbue for Karise Eden, that's her name. You wont be disappointed.

They shouldn't release too many live releases, though. Most bands would release one or two live albums a decade.

But it's Maiden, so we let them off! Most bands don't tour in a mother fucking aeroplane!

Ah, so there is something I have beaten you in. The only other two are blams and posts.
Stop salting my wounds :(
At least you can pass me in blams. OH WAIT!

Yeah, if I stick it out here for another 10-20 years.

Ah, so tag teams are a little more official in Magic?
Yeah, play a 2 headed giant - 2 player on each team; combined life total of 30
And players can block as long as they have any creatures to block attacks. Seems simple enough.

Only if the attack is coming at you - since you and the other half of the 2-headed giant counts as 1 player, you can block that way.

I thought I did well at 14 and 42, for a total of 56 points.

Nice, so long as you had the life to pay - I'd recommend a blue / white deck for that card then.

Combine it with a Temple Bell, where everyone draws a card, each time you ring it.

Also: Do you have "Duels of the Planeswalkers" for the PS3? If so, we could play online.
I tried it, never really got on with it. I never got to downloading it.
Well, the biggest downside is that you can't build your own decks. So it might not be worth it after all.

Yeah, I hate that about it, but it makes for a quick game, rather than making a deck from scratch.

I can imagine the Wii mote really sucks for older games. In my opinion, the PlayStation controllers are the best. SNES is good as well, but they are a bit too light. The PS controllers have a good weight and they are very nicely shaped.

Actually, you can use the GameCube controller for the older games so no worrying about Wiimote. However, when Nintendo re-released the Metroid Prime games, they made them to require the Wiimote.

Because I hate them?
That really hurts. :(

Serves you all right.

I have seen some special land cards floating around or the recent days so maybe they're still playable.
When I played, those cards wheren't allowed in most tournaments, so they where pretty rare and expensive. I never bothered buying them.

I'm going to guess things have changed since then and you can use special land cards. Hell, they have them for Friday Night Magic promos so why have them forbidden?

I have that but on Steam.
I see. That's too bad.

I agree. However, I don't think the game is worth buying twice. It's really only for those who are trying to get into Magic. Competitive players won't find anything worthwhile from this.

Well, the biggest downside is that you can't build your own decks. So it might not be worth it after all.

I really don't get why. Why not just have a game where you can use all the existing cards from when they made that video game? I bet there's some sort of online service where you can use an archive of Magic cards for anyone to use as deck tests and such.

Well, you start out with 20 life. So that's plenty to use for a Force of Will or two. See, the trick is, not to get hurt at all during a match. :P

I'd much rather use one of the many "each player draws X cards" spells.
Also, good cards are Underworld Dreams (each time your opponent draws a card, he recieves one damage point) and Megrim (each time the player discards a card he recieves 2 damage points). There's a deck with that combination in "Duels of the Plainswalkers" as well. I had a similar deck back then, it was awesome. But somehow my friends didn't like it too much, haha.

Also: Do you have "Duels of the Planeswalkers" for the PS3? If so, we could play online.

There was a Magic game for PC where you could do just that. It was pretty up to date with the cards when it was released, but nowadays there are too many fine cards missing, so I only play it for nostaligc reasons.

They tried to change it for the PS3. No-one was happy about it, although the comfort on the round shape may have been alright.

Of all of them, Metallica are the most sensible.... That's not right. As for Rush, I only thought they had done three. Maybe only three are notable and the rest are throwaway releases.
