That, my good sir is the Necronomicon, from The Evil Dead films.
It did look familiar, but it mostly reminded me of the monster book in Harry Potter.
I'm not so into the horror genre, so that's mostly why I haven't seen that film.

After some initial concerns, I am really liking the redesign. Everything looks very slick and it's obvious what a huge amount of work has gone into it. I was a big fan of the previous layout and wasn't convinced about the need for the redesign, but I think it's proved to be a good decision.
I wasn't entirely sure about some of the level icons at first, but on reflection I think most of them look pretty awesome (I'm looking forward to getting a fire axe at my next level up!). It's a shame that they've lost some of their size and prominence now, particularly given how good they look, but that's a small quibble.
There are some things which appear to be missing at the moment (experience points deposit notification, overall voting power, total score for each game), but fingers crossed those are things which are being tweaked in the weeks to come. Overall, I think it's looking good.

Mind you, we have plenty of time. Personally, I'd consider dropping Morgan and possibly Bell. The question is, whom do we drop them for?
Well it looks as though Bell has been dropped for the one-dayers though who knows if they'll stick with that decision for the next tests as well. Sacrilege as it is to say it, I'd be inclined to drop Pietersen for the next test, given his protracted run of bad form. But sadly I don't know enough about county cricket to know of any upcoming stars who could replace him.

I'm really not a fan of the Wii so to be honest, I probably would say that it's only worth about £30... but yeah, the cost of their controllers in particular is daylight robbery. Particularly since they stand a higher chance of breaking than other controllers given the risk of them flying out of your hand and smashing into things!

You haven't read the right manga! Anime's better anyway (takes less time).I've read Naruto - it just pisses me off, reading and missing all of the action. What's the other one? Akira? I'm just not a fan.
Never seen the Naruto manga. Seen like 1 ep of the anime. Didn't interest me. My wife has read maybe 10 or so manga, and I've read maybe some of 2 or 3 of them, can't recall any titles.
Akira? Didn't know it was a manga first, but many anime series and OAVs are. Anyway, Akira (the movie) and Ghost in the Shell (which is very Blade Runner-ish) were the big anime movies to see around the time I was off to college in 1995. I've seen dozens of series and dozens more since those two (and I'd seen some anime when I lived in Japan from 88 to 91, but mostly kiddy series that didn't interest me ;_;), and Akira is nowhere near the best. Ghost in the Shell, OTOH, is great. As is the TV series a few later.
Here's some recommended anime my wife and I have enjoyed over the past 15 years or so in case you ever change your mind and give some GOOD anime a try. :D
Bubblegum Crisis
Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG
Cowboy Bebop
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Trigun
Revolutionary Girl Utena
Escaflowne
.hack//Sign
Fullmetal Alchemist
Samurai Champloo
Claymore
And these my wife liked a bit more than me, but I still enjoyed 'em okay:
Fushigi Yûgi
Slayers
Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X)
Kodocha
I've read three books in the past half year as well after years of maybe reading 1 or 2 books a year. My wife reads like 10 books a year (minimum) while still keeping up with TV and movies. She's a wizard, Harry!I've done 2 books so far this year and I'm working my way through Snuff, by Terry Pratchett now. IMO, exp depositing is its own reward... not the level destinations along the way. With the exception of a few awesome levels in the 30 system and 60 system, most of the levels just weren't that hot anyway. But the exp numbers? The exp numbers always increase (if you dedicate yourself to 'em), and numbers are always nicer than silly ol' avvies, anyway. :)

The ball is in your court, Auz - Are you going to update the Reviewers list to two lists, or keep with "Flash" (Movies and Games)? Of course, you could pool everything together and make a total reviews list, I suppose.
I haven't really decided yet. Perhaps I should first wait until byteslinger comes up with a new program. If it can pull the stats seperately I could perhaps make two lists. Though in that case I'm leaning more towards keeping one total reviews list and adding two colums. One with movie reviews and one with game reviews.

I want to try and get used to them before I hand out my verdict, but I'm afraid I don't really like them either.
Though indeed, it's awesome that I'll be having the scythe again soon.
It does work in my Opera. Do you have the latest version?Yes.
They ought to work then...
R.I.P. Huge level icons.Indeed. :(
Fortunately I can upload the old level icons as my user pic if I really start missing them.

I liked these anime series too. Especially Cowboy Bebop.
I'll keep the rest of your recommendations in mind. Have you watched Death Note as well? I'm watching it right now (I'm at the 4th episode or so). I figured I might as well give that series a watch as it got so popular.

Lol :p
Let me guess; It's one of those "horror flicks" where you're actually rooting for the killer?
They should definitely add that aura. Especially if there is going to be a lit portal.I'm waiting for Tom to wake up / log in and then I'll pester him again.
I'm sure he'll appreciate that after working on the redesign for two days straight.

excellent ! two thumbs up :D
I miss the better features of the old design; you could actually tell you deposited exp and you knew how much the protection points added to your vote power :-(
The one thing I REALLY hate about the redesign? The sound that the play button AND the "under judgement note" makes. Is there any way to turn that annoying sound off? If not, I might be forced to stop B/Ping...
Also, I keep getting logged out whenever I close my browser, even though I checked the "save info" box. Also happens on other browsers.

Just take a look at the username and you are good to go.It's wider as well, so we get more space to talk at one another :P
Yay! More lounging in the LUL!
Overall, I think it's good, though some of the auras could be better (there is no writer, for example) and identifying one user as a moderator seems more of a crap shoot.
Yes, whenever I see some user with a level icon and a golden background as an avatar, I instantly think it's a mod...
Oh and there's no whistle option on Under Judgement submissions, which I think is a massive omission.
There will be flash mods, I read. Now this would be great stuff.

I guess so. I only read one gaming related magazine, and that only reports about PlayStation/PSP/Vita titles
Oh yeah, your disgust towards self-titled albums.Actually, it sounds like a power metal band.Right. And if they are lame enough to name their first album after the band, then we have both: A band name and an album with that name.
It's not so much "disgust". I just think it's lame. And yes, Graveyard are also lame for naming their first album "Graveyard".

Maybe we should go all oldschool and upload the level icons from the previous redesign. Do you plan on updating the old list in your newspost?

So you managed to get every single deposit, not even missing one on redesign day itself? I've missed one, on reflection and I'm not happy about that.

True.

No-one can self felate for you - it's forbidden. However, I know a girl...

It's supposed to be billed as a horror. On that comparison, it's utter garbage.
