What a massive catch up! The voting had me totally occupied the last couple days - but I wanted to make sure I had viewed every submission fairly so my vote would be accurate. On a side note, the girl across the street from me committed suicide today. It was extremely hard to watch the people crying and leaving flowers, notes, and candles all day. A beautiful young woman with a 5 year old child...I just can't believe it still...R.I.P. Jessica.

I posted a poem in her memory in the writing forum. I'll save everyone the space in the lounge and just keep it there.

Not each semester... Each Year. That, plus all the corruption in that school left me out unfairly.

Wow that's shitty. Only 180? WTF.

Few days later after I found out that, I talked to a woman that works there and told me that many students dropped out so I can still get a place, but in the next semester. For now, I'm just enjoying life :P

Ah, nice! Get after it!

So, if you have the chance of studying in college and being accepted in there, go ahead and get yourself a degree. I know it's expensive there, but at least there's more space for more students.

Yeah, it's absurdly expensive. I'm just really worried that I won't be able to make it through or something, and I'll be stuck with some huge college bill and no degree :/

At 10/3/10 03:14 PM, Auz wrote: My 144th Reviewers List update is up.

Nice man, I'm not on it yet, but I'm on my way :D

Wait, they won't accept you because you were caught smoking pot 7 years ago? It seems kind of harsh to me to refuse you because of things you did in your teenage years so long ago.

Yeah man, you can't even make this stuff up. I guess they used to allow it, but with the surge of people joining the military they enforced new criteria for recruits. I used to be a pot smoker in high school, never got into drinking, go figure.

And have you been sitting home for six months now? That's quite long, but I know a guy who sat home doing almost nothing for a whole year. It didn't do his social life and self esteem any good.

Yup. 6 long months man, filled with applications and thoughts on wtf to do. Doesn't help a guy's self esteem or social life at all.

I'm doing pretty good so far, although we're about to have a new government here which is really gonna fuck students in the ass. Financially I'll pretty much be at the very bottom of our society in a few years time, although it's probably not gonna be as bad as some Americans who go to university have it ($100,000 debts and such).

lol yeah man, if I DO enroll this next semester (granted I get approved for the loans) I'm going to be in so much debt...it's really stacking up but since nobody will hire me, a degree would really help my chances. Idk it's still kinda up in the air, I'm supposed to have a buddy enroll with me since he's interested in the same program. I think that would help me a lot.

Not at all. I'm going to see if I can juggle between PC games and console games. It would help both sides if I alternated between the two each day.

Yeah, mixing it up a bit is generally a good idea. Like when I took a break from Fallout at the weekend to check out the Polycount update :P

Oh man, I remember watching Beavis & Butthead Do America at school. Yes, I do mean school.
Best I can say is in Religion we watched the Lent episode of Father Ted :P
Now THAT is hilarious! I take it they took the episode as a joke.

Sorta, our religion teacher was so cool, one day around Lent he came in and said "I feel like watching Father Ted, if anyone asks we're studying Lent". Great times for sure.

Awesomeness. I could see Freeman narrating Blammer, it would seem right, to me.

Hah! You missed the Futurama quote!
And a Bender quote nonetheless. Yeah, I was rushing out the door as you can tell by my horrible grammar.

'Old New York, the city that inspired a casino in Las Vegas.'

I love some of the pop-culture references that they throw in with Old New York. Then the threw in "That Guy" in 80s stock and we went even better.

Cincy Vs Philly looks to be the best of the Divisional Series matchups, but now we've got no baseball for 2 days. What can I do?!
Red vs Phils will be a interesting match up. I'm curious about the Rays vs Rangers. I'm interesting in seeing if the Ranger can get their first ever playoff series win in team history.

I think they've got the staff to do it. Tampa is good, but like te Yanks have stumbled down the stretch. Plus, Cliff Lee wants to take on the Yanks again :P

I'm not building any expectations. I'll be happy enough for the game to come out.

I guess there is a chance Metroid Dread might come out. As far as I know Nintendo has always brought out the games they announced.

They have but it's not like them to put a game on hold even for a few years.

Well you got a job now. Surely you must financially be able to hire an apartment somewhere.

I have doubts. You should know it's really hell-ish for finance in this country. It's so bad that the tory bastards are taking away benefits as well as raising the VAT, thus fucking up everyone besides the rich people. Whoever voted for these pricks should be ashamed of themselves.

So, why do you bash me for not liking Manowar, when I listen to lots of other cool bands instead? Manowar are just one band I don't like and no, it's not because they look terribly gay, but because I don't like the stuff they play :P
PLUS: Manowar ARE very untalented when it comes to playing their instruments. Their songs really aren't masterpieces of modern music but more like something anyone could come up with if he just started playing an instrument three days ago. Even people who like their music admitted that Manowar are terrible songwriters.

He might toss in some much needed penguin marching action to the story.

I was hoping he'd reprise his role of God from Bruce Almighty :P

I think they've got the staff to do it. Tampa is good, but like te Yanks have stumbled down the stretch. Plus, Cliff Lee wants to take on the Yanks again :P
I bet he would, though a Rangers Yankees match up for the ALCS isn't really a dream match up. BTW just as I thought AJ is out of the rotation. Story

Well, if he's that unpredictable in the regular season, we can hope that the rest will leave him set for the Championship Series.

Across the street? It happened something very similar in my street 2 months ago.
There was a party in my street which attended a lot of people, around 5 AM I was sleeping when a big noise woke me up. A guy shot himself just because he had a fight with his girlfriend. Everybody in my street got out of their houses, then we saw the cadaver body. It was amazing but sad at the same time.

Even if I didn't know the guy, I felt very awful about him. It's a shame that girl you knew decided to end her life, and I know exactly how you're feeling right now dude. Specially since also, a cousin tried to commit suicide 2 years ago, but fortunately, the doctors managed to save her on time.

Wow that's shitty. Only 180? WTF.

Indeed it is. I swear, I'm not exaggerating.
Only like 10% of the people that apply to med school manages to get in. It's almost the same situation with other careers.

Yeah, it's absurdly expensive. I'm just really worried that I won't be able to make it through or something, and I'll be stuck with some huge college bill and no degree :/

If it's something you really want to study then I doubt you won't make it. An uncle of mine in his teen days, was like the worst student ever and he ended being an excellent dentist, just because he really wanted to being one.

But again, if it's something you're really interested into, then you will make it easily. No matter how hard the career is.

Yeah, I heard the flu virus isn't pleasant for birds. At least you're free from HIV and can fuck as much as you want without worrying a thing about your health.

Congrats on your level up man, however your axe looked a lot better. I have to ask why are so many of lover level icons look a lot better then most of the higher level icons? such as level 44 icon> 45 icon > 46 icon>. but like you there was a couple of levels that I never got to go through with this account. For example I wanted the level 15 chain from the old levels, as well as the 16 numchucks but the redesign placed me on level 28 past the new chain and both numchucks levels.

Holy shit that's crazy. Thank god we didn't hear or see anything, but it's still really sad to hear about stuff like that. You just kinda feel like there must have been something you could have done if you would have known...

Well there's still a shrine out front, and her best friend was an artist and painted a totally crazy picture of her out front, so that's nice. I saw a gathering there today and went over there to give my condolences only to find out it was her sister and mother. They were very nice people and I tried to comfort them while they were there, so I felt really good that I was able to help in some way.

Indeed it is. I swear, I'm not exaggerating.

Yeah, I could never make it through med school, that's why I'm thinkin computer programming, design, repair, something along those lines.

If it's something you really want to study then I doubt you won't make it. An uncle of mine in his teen days, was like the worst student ever and he ended being an excellent dentist, just because he really wanted to being one.

I hope so, because I'm really thinking I want to do it. I'm supposed to do a 'tour' of the school this week hopefully.

Only problem is, it already WAS the second date for the test, so no resit for that. And no, 300 out of 800 pages wouldn't have worked out.

I got into geocacheing and geohashing lately. I read a few forums that are based on that and one guy suggested there should be geobashing. Anyone who feels the need to beat someone up can add a meet up location to a map. And eveyone who also feels the need to get into a fight can scan that map for new entries.
Both guys meet up, fight, and are happy. No one else is harmed. ^^

Lol :p Awesome idea.

But I heard hooligans often already try to make appointments with each other on where to fight and it's not so much that innocent people get hurt, but more that hooligans also like to smash in windows, attack the police and destroy property. I think.

Nice man, I'm not on it yet, but I'm on my way :D

*Noted*

I gotta make sure I got more profiles to track, before there's a whole lot of people not on the list who should be there.

I'm sure they won't make a big deal out of it here since smoking pot is practically legal :p

But yeah... would drinking be okay then? Essentially it's not so different from smoking pot, except that one is legal and the other isn't.

Yeah I heard stories about some American student who got into so much debt that she could probably only afford a small apartment for like ... the first 20 years she had a job. I don't know, but studying hardly seems worth it if you can get yourself in so much debt.

Of course this is an extreme case though. If I understood the story correctly she went to the wrong bank and picked the wrong loans.

I'm not building any expectations. I'll be happy enough for the game to come out.

Indeed. I'm just curious about what it's gonna be. I don't expect too much. It's probably fine with me as long as it's at least decent.

I guess there is a chance Metroid Dread might come out. As far as I know Nintendo has always brought out the games they announced.
They have but it's not like them to put a game on hold even for a few years.

I wonder what's taking them so long. Perhaps they're gonna release it on the WiiWare/Virtual Console/whatever that thing is called? I guess the game might be suitable for that.

This story sounds quite familiar. I think similar things are about to happen in Holland now.

Basically, right wing parties and populists have taken the power and have plans to take lots of money away from ordinary people in all kinds of ways, while leaving the rich people mostly unaffected. About half of the people in our country think things are gonna get better for them now that non-socialists have control, while it's obvious that some will lose hundreds of euros per year eventually and might end up in a very bad financial situation.

What we get in return is a little more police out on the street, better care for old folks and a 135 million dollar Joint Strike Fighter. Woopdiedoo...
