It's called "Sekt" in germany.
Sparkling wine? I've never heard of that. I imagine something like champagne.
Yeah, it's the same with parmesan cheese. If it isn't from the right region you can't call it "Parmesan"

My gf said gnat's piss is indeed a proper expression. I don't know, in Holland we commonly say: "Tastes like horse piss" for terrible beer. "Creek water" for disgusting coffee :p
Unless you topped it with cream and such which allows the spoon to stand upright.
Nah, you just need more coffee powder and less water. :P
Oh well, the good thing is that you can buy any kind of beer from the supermarket, even the ones that cost 3 euros / crate. They all taste pretty much the same anyway XD

I'm sure Iron Maiden have lesser known songs but Metallica have enough recognition.I really shouldn't say who's going to be on Metal Monday but I suppose this one is quite obvious if they are not only highly underrated but I spent £25 to get one of their albums. However, I can easily say who WON'T be on Metal Monday:I wonder if those bands have "lesser known songs".
Iron Maiden and Metallica
True that.
Don't tell me they're not a good band to see live. I've got to see them live someday and my next opportunity isn't until whenever they release another album.Keepers albums are their most popular albums so it doesn't surprise me if there are those who don't bother with their other albums. Shame, really since there's tons of great stuff from this band.I saw them live two times. The first time was at Wacken Open Air 2001 and it was very mediocre but I thought it had to do with me being tired and exhausted (I've been watching bands the whole day and my legs hurt from standing and running around so much).
I then saw them again at the Rock Hard Festival (I think it was 2007), but it was the same: I thought it was mediocre again. The spark just didn't jump over...
I'm not telling you they are a bad live band. They just are not the right live band for me.
In that case you won't have an easy time getting into Manilla Road at all. Their albums are full of low quality production. However, once you can adapt to it, their albums are great! It's not like black metal's general sound production put us off completely. They're definitely one to check out. They don't have the most accessible sound production but once you can adapt to them, you're in for a treat. If you want to get into them the easy way, you should start with Crystal Logic since it has the cleanest sound production from them. Give Necropolis a listen and see what you think.I did that and I think the production is a bit... low quality. The vocals are way too present. ^^
But apart from that: I don't think it's going to be my favorite band, but it didn't sound too bad either.
I don't have anything against low quality production. I listen to a lot of punk music, so I am used to bad sound quality. ;)
I just don't like it when the voice is so much in the foreground that it drowns out the other instruments. I rather listen to songs where the voice is almost drowned out, so I can at least hear the music. ^^
Well, you can always give them a second chance. If that fails... Listen to the whole of Traveller? :PAnother band I highly recommend you check out. I think I showed you Warriors Dawn before but it didn't really click on for you.Yes, I listened to that song. But ah well, one can't like every metal band. ^^
If I find the time, I might do that. ;)

Yeah, that's the comparison I always make if someone says that Cricket is like Rounders. The bat in cricket is much bigger and so is the ball. If you can hit a cricket ball 300 ft, you're doing really well. 450ft diameter is the cricket field, so the longest you'll have to hit the ball for a six is 200-220 ft.

I'll see where life takes me I guess.
Next milestone passed 15,000 EXP. Not really a big deal though >_<
