Because the whistle isn't a stat like posts, reveiws, etc. . You shouldn't flag flashes and reviews to get a higher whistle, you should do it to help out NG.

It would also help me understand which reviews should be flagged (and yes, l've read every single review flagging guide on NG)....

Just go for the most obvious ones that say nothing but "you suck" and so on.

B/P is there to encourage people to view the most recent portal submissions, otherwise there'd be very little reason to view ANYTHING other than the top 50.

The whistle is there to help notify mods and admins of potentially rulebreaking content. The reason whistle points exist is so that users will be more or less efficient in flagging submissions / reviews depending upon how well their views on rulebreaking content correlate with those of the mods' and admins'.

Long story short, you're not going to be able to see your whistle points. Accept it and move on. :)

I always flag "U SUK LOL" type of reviews, always from 2008 or later, and never on spam flashes...so why do l have a garbage whistle?

Could be because you'd previously managed to accumulate a vast number of negative whistle points and as a result now have to slowly climb your way back up to positive figures.

There is a huge difference between showing how successful a user is on voting on under judgment flashes and how they are on flagging. Flagging deals with the illegal activities on site where you must have some sort of integrity behind it. Just think if I was 10 Whistle points from reaching Deity what do you think I'm going to do? Probably try and find some 'on the fence' reviews flag them in order to hurry up and achieve the higher rank. Hiding the stat helps conceal the whole level up 'collusion' aspect of it.

Not to mention that the whistle shouldn't be considered a rank but more or less a reputation level; you have to earning it rather than achieve it.

I really takes time and experience to see what should be flagged and what shouldn't but like I mentioned earlier the obvious stuff like chain reviews or the lame 'you suck' without telling why are all screaming abusive.

However Haggard is right; it's more about being useful to the site and trying to help clean up others' messes than to achieve a silly jpeg of a whistle. Catching three stolen flashes that passed judgment and one stolen audio track didn't affect my whistle stat but it was helpful the authors who it originally belong to.

Same here, the 99 - 03'ers will always make me feel young considering how much happened back then and how much I missed out on. It's really funny to say that because I've been here for more than half of the time grounds gold accounts have been up for.

That's nice indeed, hadn't noticed it yet. Too bad it's not exactly all 36's, but it's about as close as you can get. Anyway, I think I'll park myself at these numbers for a while so gfox will have some time to check it out before I move on. Having 555 reviews at the end of the year would be sweet.
