The violence in the original Tomb Raider doesn't look like much now but Doom still looks gory even if it's 16 years old.
Really I don't think any of the TR games deserve more than a 12 rating. Maybe back in 1996 people freaked out over the fact that you could stare at a woman's butt for hours on end. Also Lara has a little cleavage that looks like it was drawn with the pencil on MS Paint. Shock horror!

The only game I thought was reasonable getting a 15 rating was the first just for the mutants later on and of course, the violence. :P

I'll need to get the PC copies of the first two games but I'm willing to get them whenever I have the urge to play them again which should be soon considering all this Tomb Raider talk I've had here. Also, hearing that I need the physical copy of the two games gives me an idea. If any release of the games are accepted, I could get the Double Pack and be able to play the bonus levels as soon as I get them. However, for nostalgia sake, I'd like to play through the games themselves before the bonus levels.
I imagine any version of the games is fine, you should just need to have them installed on your PC to make use of the downloads. You should be able to get both TR and TR2 on play.com for around 3-4 quid each.

Or even better, both games for just £3 altogether. I decided to order one on Tuesday and once I get it, it'll be time to replay the games. :) Sure, I might have trouble installing them but I should be fine with the patches and such.

As for Tombraiders.net, I recognise that site before from when I was looking into the Tomb Raider Level Editor. I was wanting to design just a small level but the program was complicated and I wasn't sure if it did work in the end. Maybe my old computer couldn't handle it due to its resolutions but I did follow the instructions carefully and I still couldn't make my desired level. :( I guess I could give it a try sometime soon to see if it works better the second time round.
Ah the level editor. One day I will get round to making the level I always envisioned, which is basically a long corridor with lots of locked rooms leading off it. You start with a key that unlocks the first room, where you have to get past a trap or undergo a trial of some kind to get another key which opens another room and the sequence repeats until you get to the last room with the level end.

Now that sounds awesome. I'd love to see a level like that being made. Who knows, maybe there's already a level similar to that out there but it'd be great if you made a level yourself. :) I didn't want to do much with my level and all it would have been was facing Torso Beast, dragon and mutant spider at once. Due to WAD issues and such, it was really complicated to do. x_x My other option would be to face more than one Torso Beast at once.

You should have another go at it as well, maybe you'll have more luck this time.

Maybe I'll look into it soon enough. :)

Yeah, I felt sorry for him too but at least he's beaten the game and now it's seeing how he does with The Last Revelation. If he's able to beat it thoroughly, I will be amazed as I always stop playing half-way through.
Kinda drags on doesn't it? I remember thinking it was about damn time it finished about half way through as well. But I pressed on because I probably didn't have anything better to do at the time.

Yeah, I felt The Last Revelation was too long. Too many filler levels, most especially the second half. If the game was around 1/3 - 1/2 shorter, it would have been more playable.

Therefore I try my hardest to unlock all achievements in the games I play. I see it as a challenge, and I can't pass up a challenge.

Yeah, challenges are good but I don't put the full effort into getting every single one. If I'm desperate to get some eventually, I'll try and get them some other time. The best examples are Team Fortress 2 achievements where there's a lot to get but I'm not that desperate to get every single one. The only ones I want right now are those that'll unlock additional weapons for me.

At the end of the day each console has it's good and bad points and it's just a matter of weighing up the differences and deciding which good points you're most interested in and which bad points will piss you off the least.

Exactly! :D All three consoles have their strengths and weaknesses and there really is no superior console. It all depends on which console has the best games for you.

Yeah, I'm too lazy to update that News Post :P

Completely understandable

Jimi Hendrix
Led Zeppelin
Iron Maiden
AC/DC
Metallica
Reel Big Fish
I've just highlighted the pick of the list here - Which RBF albums do you have?

I wish I had any, but I can't find a single CD by them at any of the record stores around here, and I can't buy stuff online for another 1,5 years. I want Turn the Radio Off and Cheer Up!, though.

And so much more. I do have last.fm, but I usually listen to music on CD. The stuff on last.fm is mostly my summer playlist and other stuff I can't find in CD format.
Quite a diverse collection of music, but not as wide ranging as mine. Still, you've got some good music in the most listened to page :)

I honestly have no idea how you found my page, I can't remember linking it, but keep in mind that it's no half of what I listen to. There should be so much more Hendrix on there. And Zeppelin. But until last.fm finds out how to scrobble vinyl, I guess that can't be changed. Add me if ya like. Nick is still Dunkballz.

At 8/14/09 05:43 AM, Soapbubble wrote: People all set for CD?
Well, I'll have a new tactic to try out this year - a big tub of whey protein and a bottle of water to keep me sustained - meaning even less time away from the desk tomorrow. Parents will be around, so cups of tea will be easy to come by.

I have a date of sorts with a girl in town, so I'll be away during the day, but that shouldn't be a problem. Norway is 7-8 hours ahead of the east coast anyways. Think I might submit something, just fr the heck of it. Will proobably delete it later, though. I always do that with my spammy crap.

Holy shit, you´re 28 already? Man I was expecting you to be much closer to Bahamut and my age, but you´re even older than Coop :o
What has being older than me got to do with it? gfoxcook is older than Haggard and ReconRebel is older than most users on the site!

It´s nothing. I just seldom check people´s ages and am always very suprised when I found that someone is a lot older or younger than I expected. Reason why I mentioned your name is because 26 is pretty old to NG standards. Didn´t expect that Haggard would be older, I thought he was actually 20 or 21. Likewise, not too long ago I thought you were 23 and thought that iscrulz was 27. I guess I´m just very bad at guessing peoples ages around here =/

On top of that, I´m suprised that I am one of the younger users on the Wi/Ht? while 20 is probably a few years above the average age on Newgrounds.

To be honest, I don´t know neither =|
For really well you should have known the former try spamming the general and VG with me. The latter well shame on you.

I think I have heard of TehSlapHappy a few times, I believe he was nominated for funniest user this year in the midyear bbs awards. But I rarely visit general and rarely see him in the VG, so I barely know him.

As for Blind Guardian, I assume they are one of those metal bands? I really don´t know much about metal bands as I´m not really into that music genre. With me it goes as far as some Metallica and Iron Maiden but that´s about it.

Ya you are right there. But you have to remember that most of what he had done was before my time. I was born in 1993, so i would have missed his last really good album: HIStory. I would say i was a fan before he died, i just never bought any of his music until he passed away.

Granted, you'd have only been around for HIStory (1995); Blood on the Dance Floor (1997) and Invincible (2001), but I was only 4 when Bad was released. My favourite album of his, Thriller was released about 4 and a half months before I was born, in fact. That can't stop you from being a fan and getting his stuff while he was still alive. I'm not denying that you're a fan of his work, I'm just saying that there's a culture of people who would publicly say he's a freak and then rush to the store to buy his music when he dies, because it might be worth something at some point.

I was just going by the bands that you listed...

Not long ago, I was 23 (relatively speaking, of course) But hey, I was just scan reading and I saw Coop... Hang on, people are talking to / about me?!

I was personally surprised at Bahamut's age. I would have figured that he would have been little older than he is; like 23-ish.

I guess.
I really should clear out the whole list, because I barely listen to a lot of the bands on my top 10.

As stated above, I'm still young at heart. :P
Also, until a few years ago, random people would adress me informally* in shops or on the streets... so I guess I still look quite young as well. But I guess that's over now that the first grey hairs appear... O_O

*This is a bit hard to explain in english, as the english language only knows "you" to adress someone. In german you'd say either "du" (which is informally) or "sie" (which is formally). However, you'd only say "du" to an adult if you know him/her quite well AND if he/she is allright with being adressed that way (of course there are other occasions where you just say "du" to someone even though you met him for the first time, like festivals for example :D ).
Don't know how it is in dutch, or I may be able to come up with some dutch examples. ^^

Likewise, not too long ago I thought you were 23 and thought that iscrulz was 27. I guess I´m just very bad at guessing peoples ages around here =/

Same with me. I thought Bahamut was a bit older and I also thought that you are like 25 already or so.
